I predict that within 3 months of the real money ah going live that the only things that will sell will be items that are within the top 5 of the bis slot will actually sell.Only reason things sell for so much gold in the gold ah is that farming gold is stupidly easy so people will pay ZOMG prices for shit they will replace in a few days.
That’s an interesting take on it. I do however think there will be a bigger market than you predict, although not much bigger. I think there are many people out there who want the very top gear. This will be an extension to their epeen and I think a lot of people will get off boasting about how much dps/whatever stat their build has, how quick they can do one of the bosses etc. Blizzard game attract that kind of player, look at WoW. I think there will be a few micro expansions too, so bliz can cash in more, rather than diablo 2’s single expansion.
I can see the top swords/armour going for as much as £15 to £20, not that I would pay any real money for it, it kind of defeats the point in playing a game in the first place. I love the game, but my deep seeded cynacism about bliz stops me from obsessing over it like I would eve etc.
Again, I seem to be in a negative mood tonight so just going about making negative comments, so there we are. Fuck bliz and stuff.
If I’m being 100% honest, it looks fucking balls. Like a less than medicore shooter that has graphics that look 5 years old. It looks like enemy territory quake wars, which was outdated when that came out. Not that it matters, being free it should still see some action. I am really interested about how it interacts with eve however. I just wanted to make a negative post…. just because.
The game is good. I never really got into D2 multiplayer scene as I lacked the internet connection 12 years ago. I did play the game extensively on single player and loved it. Played diablo 1 for got knows how long too.
It is frustrating trying to play a single player game and being unable to because of disconnects. I thought this had all been resolved but I got kicked off last night whilst trying to play. I’ve only put maybe 8 or 9 hours into it but I am really enjoying it. I still feel it’s cheeky to ask for £45, considering the money blizzard must have made from WoW and the shit state of the servers/back-end tech.
But, I would still recommend the game, as it’s a lot of fun to play.
I have concerns for the future though. The game is built around the AH. At the moment, to get good gear, you grind and get gold, buy shit of the AH. That’s all well and good, but when the real money AH comes, people will want to sell their awesome weapons for real money, meaning if you want, them, you will need to kill the boss maybe 300 times (as the loot is so stupid that way) or pay actual money for it. It will be interesting (or depressing) to see what happens.

Oh fuck yeah, that’s a scam mate, tell her to go fuck herself, nothing good will come of this, I promise you. Had it been France of something, but I’d be careful mate. I’d skip any hassle and tell her to do one.
I had the same thing when I sold an iPhone on gumtree, so many people e-mailed me from Nigeria it was unreal. They are scamming bastards but in their country, it’s not considered wrong to be scamming “rich” Europeans so you can’t really blame them.
I’d just steer well clear.
I’m always wary of people asking things to be posted overseas. I’m sure something will come up at some point during the transaction that requires you to do something else but I guess with paypal you are protected. Just make sure you withdraw the funds from paypal into your bank account and it’s cleared before sending it.
But it still sounds fishy.

Think maniac’s hit it on the head here. Something which you couldn’t get enough of 10 years ago, suddenly you’ve had enough. BF3 is the best FPS available right now but it’s just that, an FPS that is better than the 100s of other FPS we’ve all played. The game is still awesome, but I find it difficult to love games and play them for long periods like I used to.
Yeah, saw this this morning. Looks pretty good but I’m not sure I like this “a few maps for £10” business model that dice seem to have developed in this game. I didn’t mind paying for BFBC2 Vietnam as it was a “total conversion” expansion, but paying the same price for a few maps and a few weapons every few months seems a little crap.
Saying that, I’ll probably still buy it, just grudgingly.

I played a few trials of guild wars 1, I could never get into it, it was always inferior to WoW from my limited perspective. I was interested in GW2 but I’ve not looked into it at all. I’m surprised at you max, can you headshot people from 200m in GW2?

No-body play it at all? I downloaded it and played it most of Sunday, it closes down later today. I played a lot of both Diablo 1 and 2 back in the day and have been excited about this game for a long time. The game as it is just now is a great game, good fun to play and you can make your character feel awesome. There are some cool abilities and the game’s atmosphere is well set. I can see me playing a lot of this when it comes out next month.
