Can’t we turn off the stat counter on our server for a week or two? That’s possible isn’t it?

Then we have a few weeks of crazy fun without worrying about stats. If folks are so worried about stats then they’ll go check out another server until we turn the counter back on on ours.

Unless we can say to 1stBW that their presence is spoiling the game for XDC members and then give them a good enough reason why, it’s going to come across as a clash of personalities and us being petty. The person that most of the people here seem to have a problem with is Messy, but I get the impression that he acts the way he does because he thinks it’s okay.

The instance where Wolf was chastising someone and Messy jumped in with his 10 pence worth, the guy thought he was actually helping, by backing up the administrator. We all know that Wolf is more than capable of dealing with the ‘tards on our server, but being the outspoken guy that he is Messy likes to wade in.

I don’t think any of the 1stBW guys realise that they’re upsetting folks here and probably enjoy playing on a server with a bunch of guys who know them (last time I played was a week ago though). If Alzir turned around to any of us here and said that we were spoiling the fun for other people on the server with our antics in the game, and members of XDC were threatening to leave because of it, I doubt we’d go away feeling particularly good about ourselves. Especially if up until that point we thought we were playing amongst friends who enjoyed our company.

Personally I’d love to try and fly the jets or attack choppers more often, but I don’t when Divie or Messy are on the server. Not because I’d get shot down al the time, but because if we’re playing as a team on a map where the pilot roles are important, I’d feel I was letting the team down. But I also feel that the 1stBW boys would be more than happy to step back and let the rest of us fly because some of us need the practice againt pilots of similar skill levels. The same goes for tanks etc.

They are all top rate players, but so are many of the XDC players. If I’m going toe to toe with Max and his M16 then I’m screwed. Let’s be honest, it’s a bigger buzz beating Max than getting a medal. If I was just playing here to get medals, then I’d have quit this server months ago

I think the fact that iNSANE has posted a serious and thoughtful message (which suddenly goes all fruity at the end) gives us an idea about how much consideration this thread has caused.

Do I want to see 1stBW banned for a week? No.

I get on with the guys and they are a good laugh. Sure I they can be a bit annoying at times, but we all have occassions like that. Sometimes when I’ve got a kill that I scarcely believe was possible, I might let out a victory cry, although I try not too (as it’s damn annoying if you’re having a bad game and some dick is going “I got you again! Hahahaa!”).

If there are issues with 1stBW then we should tell them what they are, rather than suddenly banning them. If I’ve learned anything from SuperNanny it’s that you have to say what the problem is first as a warning before being put on the naughty step. That’s ezacly how it’s done.

So what are the issues that people have with 1stBW, or with them as individuals?

I’ve got the same Mobo as you mate and had similar problems about 3 months back. Is it resetting/crashing more and more frequently? With mine, the problem was to do with a flake of the silver paste used to aid cooling of the chip. I had to remove the chip et al and then replaced it after having cleaned it and reapplied the paste.
