I like it when they funk up classics with a catchy beat and spurious use of percussion. Now if she’d have turned up halfway through Phantom Menace and started laying down some funked up Vagner then the film would have improved 127%. Fact.

If it was being programmed by a bunch of moody, teenage emos then you could also have called it “Forgotten Mope“, but that would have relied on us knowing the people behind the game, so you definately chose the right play on words.
I think blogging’s great. A couple of good ones I used to read were a waiters blog and that of a traffic warden. Both very entertaining due to most of the entries being of that ‘this is what happened at work today’ variety. Both funny and infuriating until the traffic warden had to stop ‘cos his boss had found the site and the waiter started writing about his ‘amazing dreams’ 🙄

Do doctors refer to patients as ‘awesome’?
Wife: “Doctor, after that awful accident, can you tell me my husband’s condition?”
Doctor: “Yes, you’re husband is currently ‘awesome’ but hopefully by the end of the day he’ll be ‘sick’ or possibly ‘radical’.
Wife: “Erm… What does that mean…?”
Nurse: “Doctor! Come quick! Mr Smiths status has changed to ‘leet’ and we’re worried that he might become ‘totally wicked’!
Doctor: “That’s awesome nurse Jones, that’s awesome to the max.”

Queeks is absolutely correct, not only about Max and Wipers, but about 99% of XDC. However, I know exactly where Wolf is coming from, which is why I haven’t re-installed 2142 on my PC since the rebuild as I was on my way to having a heart attack as I would get so wound up.
I HATE playing on unfair teams, it annoys the hell out of me to the extent smashing my fists into the desk and screaming with rage, but that’s a rarity on the XDC server. Not having been there, I think Wolf’s been on the recieving end of some good-natured ribbing that probably wasn’t well timed. If I’d had a shit day and somebody made fun of me (and I thought it was done in malice) then I’d probably have reacted the same. I’m sure you’ve all got a few memories of when ‘Neon freaked out’ on the server.
Now I’m not biased you understand, but I reckon the XDC server’s the best around and I can pretty much guarentee that if there’s a good game to be had, it’s to be had here. I’ve played on plenty of servers where the enemy never got out of their base on Gibraltar, or even captured the first flag on Berlin and those were shit. Back in BF2 I remember more than one game coming down to 0 to 1, since they were so close. Now that’s excitement.
For my money Fluffy, Signal and Max are probably the last players you want to go toe to toe with in 2142, but that’s only part of what a game’s about. Pharty and Wipers read the battle like a book and know what needs to be defended or attacked, generally keeping one step ahead of the enemy. I reckon the rest of us are just ‘damn fine’, holding our own and putting up a good show when we turn up on other servers. Whenever I used to form a squad, just seeing XDC prefixes showing up was enough for me as good teamplay was pretty much guarenteed. There are too many names to put here since I don’t think there’s been a game played with any of you in the same squad as me that didn’t involve either serious arse-kickage or some balance-tipping tactical move.
I remember many occassions when we’ve played on other servers and XDC have been in a squad that teamplay came automatically to anyone else who joined it. We have a laugh, but we play the game well and for the most part we do it in a friendly manner. On our server I’ve never known a dramatically unbalanced game to not involve a few peeps switching sides, and just look at all the regulars who drop by.
If the games have been unbalanced lately I know it’s only a glitch, and certainly not the norm and Wipers and Max certainly aren’t the culprits. Cheer up Wolf and I’ll by you a beer on the 22nd of November next year.

I have infinately more patience than Insane, but I gave up after 5 minutes of trying to create my own webpage, and it certainly didn’t look as good as Chloe’s one.

One thing that really pisses me off is the way that our soldiers get mauled by the press, politicians, protesters and even musicians. There’s a song called ‘Universal Soldier’ (which is shit) that blames soldiers for war. No doubt the same singer wrote one called ‘Universal Doctor’ that blames all illness on doctors.
