ok, i took the plunge and installed to see what the fuss is about, and from about 5mins clicking about it, it looks fabulous.
The only thing is it’s installed itself on a partition, so i don’t have any of my XP application on here, no BF2, RO or Steam games.
If i did take the plunge, how do i delete the old partition to free up the space it’s taking and re-install all the old stuff onto this? or do i need to do a total reformat and go thru the hassle of installing vista again, coz that was a time-consuming pain in the arse.
hmmmm, i’ve downloaded the image albiet from the newsgroups after i gave up on the microsoft websites, but i’m having trouble making the DVD for it, when i click on the image it opens in Nero, but when i burn the image, it just burns the image, it doesn’t seem to upack it and make it into an installation DVD.
any advice?
anyone else think that munkee isn’t reeeeealllly enjoying being a bouncer?
i bet at mcdonalds you only have to finish at 12pm latest, perhaps 1am on a friday /saturday.
on 2nd thoughts ,i’ve cancelled the download, lot of people on other forums complaining about driver compatibility issies, and i really can’t be arsed to do a re-format when it fucks up. 😡
typical, the microsoft website is over loaded, i’ve registered and got a key code, but if i download the DVD from the newsgroups do you reckon thet’ll be ok?
barring any last minute paddy’s thrown by the missus, i have my ticket stamped to come along to this little shindig.
As i said earlier ,we’re in the big smoke to catch the Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age and motorhead in Hyde park. She’s already said she won’t be up for living it large on the Friday night and just prefers a quiet night in the swank hotel we’ve booked, so that kinda gives me a carte blanche to live it up.
So whats the best way for a pissed up Northener, who can get lost in his back garden, to get from the boozer to the Royal Lancaster at the north part of Hyde park?
some good games last night too, it’s been a while since i’ve had chance to play this, but it really is a cracking game. some good teamwork from the XDC crew, i think there were 6 or 7 of us at one point.
i just bought episode one, but i’m not playing it until i finished HL2 again. i just got to Ravenholme, and god, it’s such a good game.
RO definatly isn’t BF2 in any way, theres no running strafing, theres no crosshairs (iron sights only), it’s more a realism FPS but looks and plays great.
You can get it thru steam, and i don’t think there are any patches out yet.
i think we all knew where this thread was gonna end up.
i purposely kept out of commenting on this thread because i don’t really play BF2 anymore, i just can’t get on with it. i really feel EA games have let us down with this game ,what with it being buggy/unfinished/EA wanting to pull our trousers down and bend us over for new maps/add-on’s. but heres my 2p worth….
i’ve had over 2 years experiance playing with the 1st-BW guys ,and found them to be exactly our kinda lads, albeit messy did let the name down on more than a few occasions, but as a few of our guys have said he’s rectified his ways, to which you can’t say fairer than that. i think wolf’s pretty contraversial/agrressive stance wasn’t gonna get him anywhere and could have only turned out one way, i’m sorry to see him go, but as with everyone who backs themselves into this kind of a corner, well we have to respect his choice and let him go.
tbh, i think the “joke” of moving people from TS room to TS rrom is bang out of order. I’d rather of seen the TS channel made private than leave it open to this kind of abuse. I think it’s totally the opposite of what XDC stands for. i really don’t know what they were up too, as i haven’t really frequented TS much recently, but i’d have thought if they were really that much of a nuisence, a XDC member would have had no problem banning them from the TS channel.
Paddy has explained that he’s just finishing his finals and is looking forward to a real life, to which i wish him good luck and all the best, and perhaps when theres a game that doesn’t divide us quite so much, or he realises he doesn’t have much of a life after XDC ( 😛 ) then he’ll be back, and i’m sure we’ll welcome him back, after all some say there’s no leaving XDC ( although some seem to have managed pretty well).

yeah i go to see em at Don Valley stadium in early july.
i definatly wouldn’t say it’s better than their earlier stuff, and it does sound a little similar in places, but overall it’s a decent funky album.

he’s hardly a big player, what uni is he in, i’m hoping 13 so they can sort him out.
otherwise, we in uni 5 are strictly mercenaries for hire at the right price, are you willing to bend over for toothbrush’s midget manhood?……coz that the only way you’ll get him to donate any resources or time to your cause, fuck knows he’s helped his own out. 🙄
aye, the 1st 12 weeks is a very stressful time, and there really isn’t anything you or the missus can do apart from enjoy it.
it’s great news steve, i know you’ve been trying for a while, i really hope you get the opportuninty to be a dad, coz it really is the best thing in the world. i’ll try upload some pictures of my lad, Josh, coz he really is turning into one cute kid.
