The demo needs DirectX 9.0c (Feb 2006 version) which wasn’t bundled in the demo to save space. Just head over to microsoft download and install and you will be good to go with the demo.
Multiplay on the problem:
BattleField 2142 – Crashes today

The EA BattleField 2142 master servers have been suffering issues today an unfortunately this has had a knock on effect to the servers themselves in the form of additional crashes and massive amounts of players dropping from the servers.We have made EA aware of these issues and REQUESTED that the servers reliance on the master server be removed as its a massive single point of failure. Fingers crossed they will take our advice and fix this issue in a patch.

Wet – I think veteran status is conferred on your EA login name, so your can create other BF player profiles who will all have the 2 icon. Thats what I did – couldnt register using Wipers, so used Wypers instead. When I logged in for the first time I created a new profile called Wipers and it worked! I don’t think I got the extra ranks but you earn them in a day anyway.
Try it! It wont be the same without the eggtamer!

Never seen so many people leave a film half way through. I stuck it out as I was a fan of Wes Andersons previous films but it was hard going.
Don’t think I have ever walked out of a film. I should have walked out of Love Actually which was dreadful.
