I personally thought it was a bit silly, with a few funny scenes here and there
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou – you know, this shit film with Bill Murray in it, I tried and tried to slice my own wrists with the edge of the popcorn carton!
Oh, and the film with all the dykes going to some cave, getting eaten by these gollum look-a-likes! Totally over rated shite.
– Starship Troopers #1 – Biggest pile of old shit ever. Should have been called Beverly Hills 50190 In Space.

Never seen so many people leave a film half way through. I stuck it out as I was a fan of Wes Andersons previous films but it was hard going.
Don’t think I have ever walked out of a film. I should have walked out of Love Actually which was dreadful.

oh sorry I miread the title of this post.. I’ve never walked out on a movie.. but I dont go and see shite at the cinema.. mine was based on DVD.. anyhoos I boredly stuck through ST:2 .. one film I did switch off through was a recent WW2 film I dont even remember the name of.. it was shite beyond belief!!

Beverly Hills in Space? yes it’s satire, taking the piss.
It’s by Paul Verhoeven, most of whose [American] films are either social satire or blatently taking the piss out of Hollywood (Starship Troopers, Robocop in the former bracket, Showgirls in the latter).
I watched it again 2 nights ago and loved it.Troy is the worst film experience I had. Five minutes was too much for me. There are so many bad films out there but you can often find an excuse to watch it. Troy was just impossible.
The same thing happened with a graphical film recently. No idea what that was called but it was something about animals in an American zoo. A deranged donkey? Can’t remember, can’t care less.
I tried to enjoy Lord of the Rings until the moment when Aragon kissed his bird in Rivendell, at which point something died inside me. Something that Jar Jar Binks had already tried to kill in the first Star Wars prequel. Darth Maul with his glam rock make-up and impossible-to-use-without-cutting-your-own-arms-off double-ended light sabre. So ghey, so ghey 👿
