Anyway – this whole stats thing is interesting. it definately has led to some crap aspects of play… but lets think back to the old days of BF. There was NO incentive to play as medic or engineer (apart from medics who went the class to heal themselves.) Put down the stats as you want… but when I play BF2 medics try and heal me!!! support guys try to give me ammo! People try and join squads so they get mobile spawns and score more points!
I reckon people look back on BF42 with rose tinted glasses. We were lucky in XDC to have a good group of guys who would occasionally go out of their way to help others (nom as engineer and Vic as medic spring immediately to mind) despite the fact they would often be at the bottom of leader boards.
Like it or not EAs blunt instrument of stats linked to in game actions has actually made a difference to the amount of team pl;ay on servers? No??

We are all computer game players… we have all wasted countless hours achieving pointless goals in all sorts of stupid games from pacman onwards… dont land heavily on people who want to do the same thing in BF2!
As long as they aint cheating to achieve their goals then they should be allowed to enjoy the game in the way they want. If people are ruining gameplay thats a different matter Nom – but you can be a cock and love stats or be a cock and not give a crap.

I just watched apocalypse now redux…. never realised how much of BFV was lifted straight from the film! Makes me nostalgic,

Interesting thread – good points by all I reckon. Im not sure about the aquare – is it solely war heroes or is there a variety of statues? If the former then the Lapper thing does sound a bit stupid… if there is already a mish mash of different icons I dont really have any objections…. art should stimulate discussion… I think the placing of her statue there is pretty armless really 🙂

Come on guys. Dont get me wrong – Bender does have some good lines… but as a whole futurama is pretty poor. Sooo many episodes I have gone through with barely a titter. Its not as sharp or funny as Simpsons, and often descends into some pretty dire plot lines. It also has a few moments where the characters all break out into song in a most excrutiating and unfunny way (one episode in robot hell and another with Hermes doing a bizzarre song about filing or some shit like that spring to mind.)
I watched them all and dont regret it… but comparitively… theres no contest!

To be honest the idea of banning all the 1st BW guys for a week sounded like a fecking ridiculous idea to me from the start – talk about throwing weight around unnessesarily! If anything demonstrates an anti-XDC feeling I reckon that policy would! As Beer said – there was only one way for this thread to end…….. QED.
