It’s the worst multiplayer shooter I have ever played, by miles. Lots of comments on the in game chat about how “this is COD”, but it isn’t – COD is better, and that includes Black Ops 3 which was terrible online.
In fact, I can’t really think of any game I’ve ever played which was worse and that includes Spellbound on the Atari which was bugged and therefore impossible to finish (but that was a £1.99 game).

Total shit.
sickofitallParticipantI’ll probably buy this, been playing the open beta and quite enjoyed it. I’m absolutely terrible though.
sickofitallParticipantWorld War 1. For the first time in probably 10+ years I’m interested in a Battlefield game.

sickofitallParticipantSingle player is just the multiplayer modes with bots, so I’m guessing that if you can’t get 5 people you can always play mp with fewer and the bots will fill in the gaps. Not tried it though.
My opinion is that the AI is as good as it could be. Put it this way, playing SP as one of the hunters the monster beats me quite regularly. It’s a bit easier as the monster but you still have to be careful because if the hunter AI corners you before you’re fully evolved it kills you pretty quickly.
I’ve had 2 games (out of loads, rounds generally last less than 10 minutes I’d say) where the monster AI has bugged and gone catatonic. Also had a few games as the monster where one of the hunters has wandered off on his own, though it’s been the same one every time so I’m not sure if this is a bug or intentional.
I’ve only played SP and enjoyed it so far. I haven’t bothered with MP because it no way am I playing this with randoms, given that the hunters rely heavily on team play the numbnuts who take this kind of thing far too seriously would do my head in.
sickofitallParticipantI’ve got it.
Early impressions are that it’s good but it might get repetitive pretty quickly, mainly because all the maps look the same to me.
Agree that it’s not as good as Left 4 Dead but it does have one major advantage in that you can play it totally single player as hunter or monster if you don’t have enough people online to play it.It’s pretty straighforward to play though, so no concerns about not picking it up fairly quickly.
sickofitallParticipantEasily the best GTA (apart from the radio stations, which are shite – Vice City still has the best soundtrack). Looks like GTA Online is starting to work now and surprisingly it’s easily the biggest laugh I’ve had in an online game since 1942. It would be a lot better on PC though – badly needs a PC release for GTA online alone.
If you don’t have a console though or refuse to buy a console game then “Sleeping Dogs” is a criminally underrated and ignored game which has been really well optimized for PC, actually does quite few things better than GTAV and is probably under a tenner these days. You’ll want an Xbox controller plugged into your PC to play it though.
sickofitallParticipantRight, I’ve got “LoConDenom” as my NC on Miller. “SickOfItAll” on Cobalt as TR and “TenaflyViper” as VS on Lithcorp.
By the way Millers too busy and the NC are a bunch of fucking fairies, thought you should know.
sickofitallParticipantRight you are – can you point me to that post you did yonks ago about setting up teamspeak and I’ll get it sorted.
sickofitallParticipantThis has been released and is free to play – is there a clan squad going? If so, can you tell me which server you’re on?
sickofitallParticipantPC for me. Better chance of being patched and significantly faster load times on PC (you won’t notice how slowly the consoles are loading the matches unless you’ve played it on PC, it’s not a big problem).
sickofitallParticipantI’ll be playing this when it comes out so if there is going to be an XDC squad running on it post up the server you’re on.
In the first game there were about 5 ways to capture a base so once you learned the basics one squad could make a big difference. So hopefully they’ve kept it similar.
sickofitallParticipantI dunno Phart, posting a rant here these days would be the internet equivalent of standing in a bus shelter like a meth addict with a spastic neck twitch and shouting at the ground while a few isolated bods walk past and pretend to ignore you.
sickofitallParticipantSame as always Al. Just not been doing much online gaming for ages – other than FIFA 12 on PC but no-one plays that. I might give Day Z a go as well, but it looks like a right palava to install.

I was totally addicted to the last 2 so wondering whether it is worth getting the new one? And has the DRM lag/errors cleared up yet? Tenpted to download tonight but not if I won’t be able to play!
It’s alright but that’s about as far as it goes. If you want a game like this with a decent single player campaign I’d say Titan Quest was far better (it’s a tenner for the Gold edition on Steam) and if you want a game where you just slaughter crap to get items then Sacred 2 has a huge open world and will last you a lot longer. Sacred 2 doesn’t like Windows 7 though and you’ll get CTD’s if you’re running it.
You’ll get server side lag as well. On a single player game. Utterly risible – rendering the “hardcore” mode totally redundant.
