Agreed.
Feel really sorry for McLaren though. Losing his job and only getting a 2 million quid payoff. How will he make end meet I wonder? Maybe someone should have a whip round.

True, true. But I can’t see it being a problem fella. I mean, it’s gonna take a bird at least half an hour to pick up 25p in coppers when all she can see is my belly button.
Oh, reading back what I wrote sounds a bit negative. Never mind, it is a good game. Totally the opposite of CoD4 which was good on sp but funnelled you down one route in this you can tackle objectives however you like, which means that you could play it through 10 times and it would be different every time.
Plus it looks absolutely effing amazing as well.
The destructible scenery isn’t as destructible as they’d like you to believe though, and that’s with physics set to maximum.
*When you boot it up doc go straight onto Delta difficulty (the hardest). It’s still playable and it does make the AI a bit more convincing, particularly when you are cloaked.
Well I did manage to add the XDC server to my favourties so I am able to play on it. So that’s good news.
The bad news is that I have quickly come to hate this pointless grenade spamming, spray n pray on crowded servers with tiny maps where even the lure of getting a new scope for my gun isn’t enough of a draw to drag me back in (and as you can imagine, I really wanted that scope).
Overall it’s a good game but the AI is dodgy though, particularly indoors where they tend to line up to get shot and they really don’t react convincingly to seeing their mates get shot in the face.
Cunt chops would just rejoin and trawl through the forums to find something to get it shut down. Given that Magicker? (I think it was him) had more at stake than just this forum it seems a bit risky.

I thought that bit was the joint worst part of the entire game. From that point on is where I felt the sp campaign completely lost it’s way. The first part of that mission was good though.
I’m not really bothered about Crysis mp either. But I’ll have the single player Crysis to get through, Mass Effect and UT3 a week later and I’m still halfway through The Witcher.
If it had been a quiet month I might have got into CoD4 mp but I just don’t have time.

The closest you’ll get is Battlefield 2 as a comparison but it does seem a bit better balanced. Obviously, there isn’t the ridiculous vehicle/air power imbalances that BF2 suffered from. Still lots of bunnyhopping though.
I think with Crysis out on Friday I’m not going to bother much with CoD4 mp but of all the game modes you might want to give Domination a try. It’s basically the Battlefield formula where you fight over control points (3 per map) and for me it was the best mode.
Have to say I thought that the sp campaign lost it’s way 2/3 of the way through after being brilliant up until a certain point, bit disappointed with that.
The missus and her family love this Bill Bryson bloke but he gets right on my tits. “You should read this it’s really goog blah blah blah”.
“No I ‘kin shouldn’t luv, now stop going on and make my tea” etc…Still, he’s generally well thought of so it must be me.

No can do, the XDC server just doesn’t show up for me at all. The server browser is crap beyond belief though. Besides, I’m pretty certain that the settings I’d stick on any server would be pretty unpopular it would be empty all the time.
