You’ll be safe with FIFA 08 on the 360 Lammie (not on the PC or PS2 though – different game altogether), got to say that despite it not being perfect it’s miles ahead of PES. I’m amazed at how good FIFA is on the 360. At long last my 360 is getting used again. Best game so far this year by some distance on any format by my reckoning.
Mass Effect might beat it though in a months time.
*edit* In fact, thinking about it all the best games I’ve played in the last few years have been on consoles – Shadow of the Colossus, God of War, God of War 2, FIFA 08, even Gears was good whilst it lasted.
PC seems pretty shafted in comparison, can’t think of anything off the top of my head that stands out on the PC. Probably Jade Empire was the best and that was a conversion of an old Xbox game.

Yeah, I remember zipping round them loop the loop type tracks at high speed. God it was rough! Used to make me vomit quite regularly. Of course, then I found out how to turn the “music” off and it was fine.
I’ll sign up to Live when they bring something out I can play on it and they allow me to change my online name for free. That’s a point – don’t like to go on about it (and I might have mentioned it before) but the dirty f*ckers actually charge you to change your online name, as if making you pay to play online wasn’t enough of a piss take. Something to bear in mind when you hand over your cash to that bloke with the “Dick Turpin” nameplate in the shop to get your 360. Bastards.

Has next to no games at all except for Heavenly Sword which is a piss poor 2nd rate God of War rip off and FIFA which you can get on the 360 anyway.For me the 360 is the only choice you’ve got at the mo but the PS3 might come good when the price drops a bit more and someone releases something for it that worth playing and isn’t Metal Effing Gear, the most overrated game series ever (even more than HALO!!).
Problem with SOF2 on the PC was that once you got over the gore gimmick all you had was an average FPS with a crap online mode where people either spammed with the nade launcher or the gay shotgun.
But bloody hell, that was years ago – even before BF1942 if I remember rightly.
On the subject of dragging back old games, they’re doing a new Bionic Commando as well – and if you remember the first one you’re too old to be playing computer games that’s for sure.

I still play ArmA regularly.
ArmA co-op with a mate or 4 is just as fantastic as OFP was all them years ago.
Pity it doesn’t seem to have the mod community that OFP did though. If anyone can point me to a decent website where I can d/load british regiment skins for ArmA I’d appreciate it.
Hang on a minute, I’ve watched this about 30 or 40 times or so now and I’m seriously beginning to wonder if it’s from the hit show “Cheers” at all.
If I didn’t know better I’d go as far as to say that somebody has just put the Cheers soundtrack over a dirty video.
Now I wouldn’t know anything about this sort of thing so it’s certainly not the case that at least 2 of the birds in that clip look nothing like any young ladies I certainly haven’t seen in pornographic films which I don’t watch.
But still, it’s worth a good wank that’s for sure.
Well I’ll admit that I couldn’t even do the first one. Actually, I did do it and couldn’t work out how so I went back and couldn’t repeat it. How piss poor is that?
It did strike me though that this was one of the 3 websites on the net which wasn’t likely to lead me to pictures of naked ladies so I lost the will to try and work it out.

Whilst I can sort of see this sentiment in gaming terms history has proved it’s not actually true.
Lazers are probably for girls (I play a friend of mine on UT4 occasionally and she always uses the shock rifle for some reason), but the shunters gun of choice on just about any game in which it features is the shotgun.

It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but you can’t really knock UT. The engine’s always been good, never had any problems with the netcode and they always seem to manage to balance the weapons and vehicles just right.
My only problem with the demo is that when I went online all the servers were DM and that’s the only game mode I can’t get on with.
The War of the Worlds walker spawns on a platform in front of the tech factory, there’s a warning siren and a ship flies in to deliver it.
