If you’ve got a PC and a console then the PC is the only sensible option because of the huge difference in the 2 versions.

Virgin will promise to sort it and do nothing. This is the problem I had. They screwed people’s connections without telling them and won’t admit they’ve done it. There’s pages and pages of complaints on their own forums about download speeds and xbox live being unusable.

Even if you’re on cable the traffic shaping they’ve implemented apparently affects you as well.
Bugger, I got it from Gameplay about 3 weeks ago and it was 25 quid. Still, it was worth it back then anyway.
There’s currently 5 XDC’ers playing it Turks so you should get some games going at some point. Having said that, joining random games is far better on this than the first one anyway. For some unknown reason, there seems to be far fewer planks playing this game.
Dunno what you’re on about mate. There was no problem on that penultimate level last night. Doc saved me by helping me up and we then ran confidently past your bodies to the safe room where I dived in and turned triumphantly round to see Doc dragging himself through the undead just as I selflessly shut the door in his face.

My virtual pro has got freekick accuracy 86 (and another 5 free kicks and it’ll be 91, which I can get on MM) and shot power 96 so I’ll take the corners, assuming we get any.

Well it’s not something you can really appreciate if you support Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal and all the rest. Suffice to say that when you pay money to go and watch a game in League 2, sit there getting pissed wet through and cold and thinking for fucks sake, I was better at football than this lot when I was 13 years old. In fact, my bird was better at football than this lot when she was 13 years old, you tend to develop a bit of a grudge against your team. Made worse by the fact that one day you give your head a shake and think, hang on, why am I even fucking here? This team represents a place which smells and looks like my chocolate starfish on a Sunday morning after I’ve had 15 pints the previous night. Why am I associating myself with this lot?
The only saving grace is that you can say to yourself – well, it could be worse, at least I’m not a dog botherer, at least I don’t support Huddersfield.
Anyhow, I’ll be on at around 10 o’clock tonight, so as long as my connection holds out and there are a few on I’ll be in for a few games.
I dunno what superpowered PC games I’ve been missing I have to say.
My Pc is 4 years old, cost me 450 quid and it runs everything. Even ran Crysis at medium/high settings.
The only thing I had to update was about a month ago when I got a new graphics card for 90 quid and I only did that because I had driver problems with the old card and it was so ancient it was no longer supported on the ATI website – and that was the card that I’ve played everything on until now.
All I see on PC these days is Xbox ports so no PC has been out of date since Nov 05, save for a very few PC only games.
If I get BFBC2 (and it’s a bif if, cos the first one was decent enough but didn’t seem that spectacular to me) then I’ll be on the PC with this one. Keyboard and mouse everytime for this type of game.
Plus I get to click on my Firefox icon on my PC and am sent immediately to hundreds of examples of the finest art known to mankind which I can passionately appreciate with enthsuiam and gusto. No console can offer me such high brow entertainment.
I only got to play in about 4 games and aside from the last one where we lost about 5-0 we were narrowly beaten in the rest. It’s not as bad as Sprog makes out. Even in the 5-0 we hit the post/bar about 3 times.
Way I see it, the main problem is that we play teams whose “Virtual Pros” are levelled up (for want of a better term) more than ours. So they’re just hitting through balls past us and our crappy default defenders get skinned everytime.
We can’t pull that same trick. Last night we had a default striker on the pitch that must have come from Bradford City and smoked 200 a day – he couldn’t run more than a mile an hour.
Best bet is to go into custom tactics and drop off the defence to plug the space and stick our quickest two players up front.
Lastly, we all need to get on at the same time if poss, even a “virtual pro” with no unlocks is better than the default players you get.
On the other hand, I don’t really give a rats arse about winning/losing 8-0. I enjoyed the games last night and that’s all I’m bothered about so if we all just jump in and get slaughtered I don’t give a shite.

I did have long hair for a time during my late teens to mid/late twenties. The notion that it was because I was a head banger is quite a noble one too. The idea that I felt enough brotherhood and camaraderie with any subculture would have been nice. I’d actually like to think that my having long hair was a combination of laziness and an unwillingness to pay for a hair cut. The less than palatable truth though is that having long hair was an easy way to get birds. It’s fair to say that long hair got me far more shags than my ugly mug, despicable personality and downright shitty attitude to life ever deserved I would have got otherwise. Still, I take comfort from the fact that the world is full of considerate, generous, conscientious blokes who are far more respectful to women who get a lot less than what I did. Anyway, if you do get a few games going tonight I’ll be able to join The Ringers from say 6-7.30 or after 10pm for an hour or two and probably contribute no end to the teams goals against tally.What time do you lot normally play?
I just managed to jump out of the league. I’m a right skinflint you see, and everytime xbox live disconnects me I get royally pissed off as I remember that this is a service I paid for and aren’t f***ing getting.
If you get any games going with the online team let me know and I’ll try join them. Least that way if I get disconnected you can carry on playing.
I don’t use wireless at all.
Pretty much come to the conclusion that it’s Xbox Live that is shit.
During the day/evening when all the fucking kids are on MW2 (and this problem seemed to start happening after MW2 was released) I disconnect/can’t connect, even allowing for the fact that in FIFA I have a green connection bar. At night when they’ve all gone to bed I can get on and it’s a lot more stable.
I’m not sure if I can leave the league you’ve set up – I’ll have a look asap. If not can the person who set it up kick me?
Well it looks like this is a non starter for me. Past few days I get about 30 seconds into an online game and I get disconnected.
Unless anyone has any suggestions it’s a total waste of time trying to play online for me I’m afraid.
Just done a connection test and got 3 meg download and 0.66 upload speed and 81ms latency so I don’t think it’s my connection. Tried 2 different routers as well, both the same.
