Well played Pharty, nice work. 🙂
I take it this option is within our communal budget?
Not really, but once I have done the maths, I will see what we are short and ask some members for more support, if need be

You can more than one server at a time, but at the server spec I am looking at, it would probably mean 2 smaller servers (i.e 16 player BF & 16 player RO) rather than 2 x 32 player. Its not the rule, just what I reckon the hardware can take. read the above stuff Lammie posted, it makes sense, its not hard, even Max can get a bit of it

No you misunderstood the question. What i meant was can you run TF2 and COD4 on the same box at the same time so say TF2 has an IP of 162.43.120 101 and COD has an IP of 162.43.120.102? so in essence multiple game servers running on the same box?
Think we would need a more expensive dedicated server to do that

ParticipantI am running an E6850 clocked at 4.1 using an arctic pro 7. rocks and cost less than 200 squid

voted leave BF Sever and change RO to Dedicated. I am right in assuming with the dedicated box you can run multiple games on the same box eg 1x 32 TF2 and 1xCOD4?
Answers on a postcard please.
Yes, you can change to any of several games with a dedicated box

I dont understand how we can put any game on we like if its telling us we can have 1 x 64-player MOHAA server.. who the hell plays that.. also if what you say is true.. could we potentially put COD4/TF2 on it int future if we liked?
Jayzus Insane, you sitting on yer brain today? It does not say what you may run, it is using examples to show what each hardware spec should be capable of running.
Now get back in the corner, and don’t forget the pointy hat.

ParticipantAhhh, the Max family picture post. Never fails to amuse.
BTW Wolf you fur-faced-fart. As you are a poor student and do not pay for the server, stop harping on about more expensive options, ruddy bugger

ParticipantWe pay £200 per quarter (66pm) for the RO server and £175 (58pm) per quarter for the BF server and £60 per quarter (20pm) for the website.
We get in about £120 per month or £360 per quarter.
I will put the updated spreadssheet online tonight (last update was in March FYI Insane you blue-arsed baboon)
PS, I reckon we can do 2 Dedicated Pro machines ?

Why don’t we drop the server and the BF2142 server from multigay and get on rackage with the rats, the have a pay per server deal and it works for them. Also multigay are utterly appaling with constant server crashes and disconnects for me!
Me been moaning about that for a while
except Rackage costs nearly double Multigay
😥
