1 EA support registry patch and 1 manual registry entry later and I finaly got it to work.
The issue was the game hadn’t put in a registry entry for the path it installed itself too…. so the patch didn’t know where to patch….. 🙄
I don’t believe this…
The patch isn’t available in my EA link, so I d/l from elsewhere.
Click to install and it can’t find the directory path because the d/l version hasn’t put in any registry entries for it.
cba with this atm, probably wont sort until the weekend or next week when I’m off work. May end up having to manualy unistall the game, re-download it and install and patch again.
Lets face it we all do it to some extent.

Gunship (chopper whoring)
Battlewalker whoring on infantry maps ( 😈 )
Grenade spamming in titan corridors
Drop in vent camping on titans
Titan bombardment of flags (those guns need to have a delayed respawn – not a repair option)
Camping spawn becons rather than destroying them.
Camping that last/any flag rather than making the push to cap it.
And anyone that plays as a sniper 😉And you are all guilty of doing at least one of the above.
But what’s really fun is killing the person getting the cheap kills 🙂
As for the mouse thing – I use a G5 but the only time I use the on-the-fly adjustment is when I switch between games and windows.
Uping the dpi in game just seems to make everything spin too fast to be of any use.
Single shot mode is your friend at medium to long range. Whilst the enemy sprays and prays, 2-3 well placed rounds drop him 8)
This isn’t an option on the engy gun, but it supposed to be a close defense weapon anyway – aim for central torso and let rip 😈
Oh and Voss = noob weapon 😛
I have it unlocked but don’t use it – a) because when it fires it sounds like and elastic band twanged against a tub lid – and – b) for some reason I can’t hit jack with it 😥
It’s probably a product of all the problems I had when they updated from the downloader to EA Link.
I had to go through the whole issue of editing my registry entry for my CD key etc.
I have another copy of the game installed on a friends spare PC and that hasn’t had any problems at all 😕
Yes this will no doubt be the last purchase I make via any sort of downloader, especialy anything from EA.
After the EA link coming back online last night I couldn’t even launch the game.
Click/click shortcut …… nothing
Click/click other shortcut ….. nothing
Remove additional commands from shortcut command line… click/click …..nothing
Try starting via Pace instead of Launcher ….. nothing..
Troll totalbf2142 support forums and look at possible fix, by converting exe file to run in win2k compatability mode.
So switch to win2k mode and game launches first time, then move on to next step.
Exit game.
Switch compatability mode off and lauch game again, which it does this time.
I mean wtf is that all about??
As much as I love the actual game, this sort of shite drives me nuts 👿
Think those rockets have a minimum detonation rang of 20m?
Which would mean you wouldn’t be able to get enough distance between you and the console.
As for damage to armour, no idea since I prefer to one shot stuff with my trusty Pilume 😈
WeT, think I’ve seen Silphy on the server.
I’m sure he’s the kind chap that top guns for me when I take a walker on a rampage 😈
Mr Max is correct, the support HMG is a pile of pants. Waste of an unlock as the std gun is better 😥
I think he means take out the standard conquest maps and just have titan maps as the conquest ones…. I think.
So you’d have the server running only Titan maps, but some in conquest mode and some in titan mode and the standard conquest maps wouldn’t be there at all, so there would be no standard conquest maps and only titan maps in conquest mode with other titan maps in titan mode.
