i have given up hoping EA will sort their shit out and do the right thing and release the definitive updated WW2 game we are all screaming for……to get the community back together as it once was.

and am re-installing 1942 again

please show patience whilst i hit you all with a deluge of noob like questions….what patch….what this……what that. etc etc.

and then i hope to be dropping bombs on a tank near you some time tonight…..woohooo

welcome back to my World sprog…….been playing a fair bit of 42 recently and its great, i’ve also installed forgotten hope which is giving me a real taster for FH2 when it eventually goes live. 😀

patch 1.61 is the latest for BF42 which you “may” find here………

i can’t remember if you have to install 1.6 first then upgrade with the 1.61 or if you can go in direct with the 1.61, either way hopefully someone else can help you out on that.

ok patched up…..but i need to add punkbuster ???

any clues anyone ?? where can i find it ?? i have put patch 1.6 in + 1.6 to 1.61

but need punkbuster to get onto any servers ??

Pretty sure PB was included in one of the patches, though you may have to manually enable it from one of the menus ingame.

Sprog u need to click the punkbuster icon below the server browser window to turn it on. it gets installed with the 1.6 full patch and then you would apply the 1.6.1 patch on top of that.

I mainly play on the RBK.de servers and the battlebox ones for vanilla BF. I havent got round to downloading the newest version of FH yet as its so big!

/ I found 1942 on a newsgroup finally, and re-installed using my legitimate CD key, just had a couple of hours playing wake and a bit of coral island.

This is the only game in the battlefield series EA got right, it really is a timeless classic.

I have been playing this more frequently too since that 7th DR RTR night.. even help WeT set up his network so he can host a server earlier today 😮
