gamer specific advertising………..it better have nudie birds with big tits in it or else i’m suing too……… 😉
*edit…
He particularly commented: “If gamers still want to have a high amount of good quality titles year in and year out, there needs to be alternate revenue streams” for next-gen gaming – IGA clearly sees in-game advertising as a notable example of this.
here’s an idea ? Don’t try to publish half arsed releases every year, instead how about a longer development time and the full weight of resources behind a particular title in a series (BF3 ? )…..???

Participantfunny that. talking about advertising and what you would class as suitable.
This for example when I was browsing ebay was OK by me:

I tend to leave aside the whole realistic aspect of the game. TBH I don’t care if they want a giant Big Mac ad on the side of a billboard as I race past it in my turbo dune buggy. I play games like Fifa and think they’re much better for the inclusion of the billboards (‘k I know they’re different genres of games so it’s not quite a fair comparison). If they can get some money from companies for doing this then I would too.
The real issue for me is will we (the gamers), see any benefits of this from the increased revenue?
I’m sceptical I have to admit.

Participantthe ads don’t bother me but any lag or interuption to the gameplay as a side effect of having “dynamic” ads in game will bother me!
i guess we shall have to wait and see………..

ParticipantSurely someone will make a hack that will stop the spyware from doing what it does… a hack for the good of mankind, if you will!

ParticipantHere’s what I know about adverts:
When I see an advert of a tidy looking bird in a red swimsuit with massive jugs eating a bowl of Special K it does NOT make me want a bowl of Special K, it makes me want to have a wank.
