ParticipantTurks if you can get a vist to Gateshead’s multi storey carpark before its pulled down, go its mad. Its also got concrete cancer, and bits keep falling off.
Vic is right about the Dunston rocket, the locals will kick 10 shades of shite out of you, then eat you, but thinking about gateshead town centre thats not far behind.

Luckly this thing is comeing down in the summer, everyone who was at the newcastle meet, that building has the big fancy Witherspoons pub (union rooms) next to it 😯May 15, 2006 at 7:58 pm #24061XDCMADMAX

My parents had friends that lived in the Dunston rocket years ago – apparently if you live near the top you can feel it swaying from side to side in a strong breeze 😕

ParticipantThe brunswick centre in WC1 is another place you may want to look into, its undergoing a regeneration but it still looks brutal.

Participantcan’t believe this thread got to page two without the Scottish Parliament building being mentioned…
650 million quid and it looks like it was designed by a 5 year old.
not to mention a couple of weeks ago when it had to be evacuated because the joists started falling in.

ParticipantAlthough it featured on Demolition (think it made it to the top 12), it is not an example of brutalist architecture, which is what im after.

ParticipantSorry forgot the name of the place, it’s called Wyndham Court and is a listed building 😆
You can see the way the tiers are ment to look like those of a ship/cruise liner. Not that I’d want to sail round the Med on anything that looked like that 😯
