Below are my thoughts on the way forward with the XDC server. I am putting the poll in the public area as there are many regular players on the XDC box who are not clan members, but whose input is important as they help keep the server populated.
First off, we can keep 1 32 player server, with a flavour of the BF series on it.
Second, we can get a 64 player server with a flavour of BF on it.
Third, we can get 2 32 player servers, one with Red Orchestra, one with BF.
I will carry the cost of at least 1 32 player server, while a second server or half the cost of a 64 player server, will have to be carried by clan members. In the case of the latter, I would make a list of those who pay, those who do not will not get admin rights.
My preffered option would be for 2 32 player servers. This gives us more flexibility and accomodates the large number of members who play RO.
Regardless of the options taken, I will initially renew the current server for at least 3 months. This will give us the time to make a decision and enable me to get the funds out of the mattress.
So, please vote and add comment so I can get an idea of what you, the XDC People 8) want.

I voted for 2 servers. I forgot about RO although I personally don’t play it there is quite a large following in XDC that do so it makes sense.
It always gives us option later down the line when RO is no longer flavour of the month and can be replaced by another title that is equally as popular with XDC.
With regards to payments for the server I am willing to contribute just need an idea of costs and I will setup the necessary DD/Paypal Transfers
I think RO is a minority tbh – yes ppl play it, but they’re about 10-20% of the Battlefielders hehe and may not have enough players to warrant a server.
64 player BF is always nice, but it would be too much of a ballache to admin, more space for more smacktards + you’re paying for them to be tards …. 32 slots is enough tofit every xdc fella and friends on as it’s hard to get everyone online at the same time anyways and it would help by not adding to the costs.
The times I’ve paid towards the server, Spugs (pat@deepsmoke.com?) took my cash???
At the moment Armed Assault doesn’t have a UK publisher (how absolutely ridiculous is that, by the way?) but assuming that it gets one it shouldn’t be too long before it appears. It’s due out in Germany and eastern Europe at the end of November.
Anyhow, I reckon that even if the RO servers are full a lot of that games players are going to disappear when AA comes out.
So given the options above I’d say you’re best holding off on a second server and just sticking with a Spazzfest 2 one for now.
A BF2/2142 32 player server will do just fine, dont really play that other slow game they called RO, its for the more older gen who cant handle the quick pace of BF2. 😀
I reckon two servers would be a good option, but we should stay away from 64 players. Like lord Phartsbury said, stick BFxxxx on one and RO (or Armed Assault or whatever) on the other.
If we can’t get enough people to justify both then we just close one down and make do as we are at the moment.
I dont feel I play enough to have an opinion atm… and that is not likly to change within the next year, as I have lots of work on 🙁

Firstly, A big thanks to Pharty for the very generous offer!! I don’t care what you decide. I will go with the flow. With regards to cash, I suspect my wages to be cut by a huge amount very soon so maybe a bit of a problem but I will make adhoc payments as and when I have the cash

voted for 2 as i know some of the ro oldies still contribute towards the bf server so seems only fair for us all to pull together for 2. Would think there were enough of us put worth a poll in itself to see if the contributions are there, including one for the website server for mag.
Its not that I am being gay… I just dont seem very interested in games atm… I go in and out of phases you see.

Im not saying I shouldnt have an opinion… just because I am not playing very much, it doesnt reall affect me 🙂

I’m voting for 2 servers, gives us more flexibility, and the chance to spread the XDC loving into a new type of game.
I am however sadened at the lack of option to vote for: I want to pay for Neonsamurais cock transplant

Gotcha there Fluff, my thinking is to combine the contributions. Need to check with Mag wot his costs are
