Which means teh whole sound argument is complete bollocks for any number of reasons.
1. Mathematically, as Vic pointed out. It’s not a linear relationship.
2. Mathematically, as common sense points out. Does twice the revs make twice the sound?
3. Depends on gears, engine type, whether sound comes more out of the front or back of the bike.
4. The people likely to pull out can actually hear.
5. Echoes & reflections changing the percieved direction of the sound.
6. Anatomical – Is the human ear twice as sensitive? What’s the “DC offset” of noise level that makes volume irrelevent?It’s just a bullshit argument. Like the rest of Legit’s points in this thread.
I don’t avoid fast moving bikes & cars because I hear them. It’s because I see them.
But what about deaf people? Doesn’t matter to them how quiet/loud you are.
Legit put the shovel down, stop digging that big hole for yourself. You could fill it with all the shit you’ve been spewing anyway 😆

The ear hears with a logarithmic scale making the difference between the normal sound levels and louder levels much less noticable.

I’ve been giving this a lot of thought and I’m pretty sure that if you go fast enough in anything (car, bike, boat, milkfloat etc) then your molecules will start to vibrate at a super high rate and you can pass through things as if they weren’t there.
Obviously to do that you’d need to be going very fast, probably around 1 thousand miles an hour or something. However the closer you get to that speed the greater the chance that you will be able to pass through things.
I think we can all agree that being able to pass halfway through a car when travelling at 120mph on a bike is much safer than not being able to travel through a car at say 30mph. I got the idea from ‘Buckaroo Banzai: Across the 8th Dimension”, so it’s solid science.
Not a bike, but the principle is the same.

Rofl! True! I was at his house when he got those ordered, cost him like 80 quid for that piece of shit, It looked so homosexual, i nearly went into 3 simaltaneous comas and barfed all over myself.
