ParticipantSorry – I should qualify my statement. It’s come after a couple of hours of playing where the majority of people were complete and utter tossers.
But, to be fair, there was few good people too.

ParticipantIs it worth dl the demo when it comes out? OR would you advise to wait till the full game gets released? I was just wondering how buggy it is so far? The BF2 demo always ran quite well for me.
Also, what’s the most impressive thing you’ve seen in 2142 then so far?

Participantyou recon its too late to get a reg key now?
I have the beta and wouldnt mind trying it outAugust 29, 2006 at 12:06 pm #32824von smallhousen
Participantthe reg key thing was apparently a hoax message, I signed in under our DR account and got the demo, I haven’t told the rest of the lads yet it’s open to them as I think theres only one person per key.
however saying that, you XDc chaps seem more likely to join the 2142 fold, if you really want to test the demo, I can lends you my account.

ParticipantI have the beta which is obviously asking for the key before the game launches. If I used your key surely that would come up as a dupe as its from a different comp? Im not “keyed up” about these things. Could you pm me the key and Ill give it a go. Although I’d obviously rather be testing with a friendly face online I’d probably only test whenyou’ve gone to bed 😉

ParticipantI’m pretty sure key sharing won’t work – and even if it did, it explicetly breaks the beta agreement.
It’s actually *not* a “demo” – it’s a restricted access beta version to get feedback on gameplay balance issues. I think EA have actually made a mistake in opening up the beta so widely as it has just attracted an unusually high proportion of ooo!!!me-too!! smacktard kiddies – certainly a lot more than in your typical BF2 game.
Since I don’t work for EA anymore, it’s really no skin off my nose, but I just don’t want to see you get into trouble or banned and have your fun ruined.
Maybe Lammie can clarify on this a bit, as I know he is a bit more involved than I.

Participantdupe keys wont work Lensmen you are right there.
Personally I think that EA should have looked in on the clan community and sent out offers to them first. People they know, in most cases at least, that will take the beta testing more seriously 😉August 29, 2006 at 12:46 pm #32828von smallhousen
Participantthere certainly are a very high number of idiots on the servers, you are deployed into a world where you fire 20 rounds per second, where nobody knows what the fuck is going on, theres tracer fire coming at you from all sides then mortar rounds, you are bound to TK in your first few games. but this punish TK system is doing my fucking nut in, I get punished all the time, I blew up a cloaked friendly sniper and he punishes me, fecking idiot was invisible and it’s my fault. bring on the XDC 2142 server where there will be decent games with decent adminning.

ParticipantThat’s exactly my experience too, vonny. Bleeding frustrating isn’t it?
Some twat on my team ran over my EMP mines in a Tiger, died, punished me, and ranted at me being a noob. Sigh….

Participantyeah can’t wait to sit behind an admin console and kick for TK punishing, it’s gonna be the new black.
I’d love to kick some noobz with a nice long educated message like zis..
In websters dictionary the term TK is an abrevviation for ‘Team Kill’ which is the verb & adjective describing the action of spawning into your own team and opening fire with everything you have, then, once ammo is depleted pulling out your knife and giving your team mates the once over with your cold steel and blank psychotic expression. Punishable.
Most likely what you just experienced was ‘FF’ which means friendly fire. Indirect ammunitions fire from your own team, which will inflict damage upon you most likley because you weren’t looking where you were going, or you stumbled like a fucking idiot into the line of fire, or, you were so preoccupied with you own mission you neglected to look at the ground to check for mines & explosives, which incidentally show up with a very big red skull and cross bones. Thats why you’ve been kicked you twat.
