Yeah, but as always Robert Downey Jr gives a superb performance. I thought most of the film was too unstructured, and meandered here and there, without really concentrating on what was actually happening.

However, any scene with Downey it it was ace.

Haven’t seen it yet but felt similar myself after reading the book. Someone highly recommended it to me and I enjoyed it but didn’t think it was as amazing as they did.
I read somewhere that when they made this they didn’t make any concessions to dramatisation but went for a film as faithful to the book as possible. Obviously that doesn’t always work. I think the meandering is supposed to portray the state of the character’s mind but that doesn’t make for a tense 90 minute cinematic storyline.
What clips I’ve seen of it look awesome visually though with the overlaid animation so I would love to watch it but I’m sure this film isn’t for everyone.

The animation made my eyes hurt.

But as Neon said RDJ was excellent.
