Anyone got one? If so, what do you think of it?
I’m looking to buy a 23″/24″ monitor and was considering an ASUS one but have seen an AOC one on the PCWorld website for £130 which seems to get decent reviews. It also has VESA fixings so could mount it on the wall by my desk (space is very limited) should the need arise.
The one I’ve seen is this one: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/desktop-pc-monitors/monitor-projectors/pc-monitors/aoc-i2369vm-full-hd-23-led-monitor-with-mhl-21408588-pdt.html
Any thoughts?

would my GTX 770 handle BF4 at full res running in full HD at 144mhz?
November 23, 2013 at 2:35 pm #85905xdc the docParticipantHey mate.
1) Never buy ANYTHING from PC world.
2) Never heard of AOC… this is a bad thing.
3) I had to look it up as they don’t advertise what kind of panel it is (also a bad thing). It is TN rather than IPS – you might want to google these terms.
4) It has built in speakers… this is a bad thing.Personally i would never buy a TN panel. I wouldn’t walk past Dell myself – they make very competitive IPS 24″ panels that are ideal for general computing.
November 23, 2013 at 4:38 pm #85906AlzirKeymaster1) Never buy ANYTHING from PC world.
Incase any of the rest of Doc’s post sounded technical, this is my number one rule as well.
November 23, 2013 at 4:52 pm #85907XDC wild egg tamerParticipantCheers doc, you’ve addressed the same concerns I had; it being A TN panel, buying from pcworld and never having heard of AOC other thing seeing them in pcworld!
Reviews seem too suggest they’re not you bad though I’m not techie enough to know the major differences between an TN and IPS panel.
November 23, 2013 at 5:49 pm #85908xdc the docParticipantHey TN panels are not terrible – if you are strapped for cash then they probably give more bang for the buck. But personally I would pay more to get a nice IPS panel, Though a cheap IPS is probably worse than a good TN – especially for gaming… so it gets a bit complicated.
Like I say – I have always rated Dell monitors.
November 23, 2013 at 7:48 pm #85909bmstalkerParticipantI have 3x 23″ IPS AOC 1080p monitors. The picture quality is amazing, I was blown away by the IPS displays, having used exclusively samsung screens before. They were cheap and have not had a single problem with any one of them.
The exact ones I have are:
I researched extensively every part of my build before I bought it and these monitors are good. The only drawback is that they advertise no bezel at the edge of the monitors and even on the box, it shows the PC image going right to the edge of the screen. This is not the case but I knew that before I bought it.
November 23, 2013 at 8:34 pm #85910________Participantas I said in tweets earlier wet , ive had 2 ips aoc`s from pc world and they were great in the sense they came on and displayed stuff . I don’t know what makes a monitor good but they were ok . the only thing was they didn’t hold up to punching as well as my ilyama used to that’s why ive had 4 monitors in little over a year . now I have an acer which was all they had in pc world at the time .
November 24, 2013 at 10:04 am #85911XDC wild egg tamerParticipantone other question. is HDMI a batter connection from pc to monitor than DVI?
November 24, 2013 at 10:24 am #85912OccaParticipantThey are basically the same, both are digital but with hdmi you can have sound too dvi is only for picture. And the plug itself is different 😆 that’s it.
Im using DVI.
November 24, 2013 at 11:58 am #85913XDC wild egg tamerParticipantcheers occa, I’m not fussed about the sound as I’m using separate speakers.
