ParticipantMy brand new external HD has stopped working.
It is my “Art” drive

ParticipantTurks,
I think you are really generous, downloading all that porn for your lesbian friends. I’m sure the repair people will be amazed at your kind nature too 😀March 1, 2007 at 11:21 am #47474TurksMeister
ParticipantRather annoyingly, it also has 105gb of my Uganda film on it – fortunatly it was a backup, but now Its only on one drive, and Im scared its going to fail.
Has anyone got any suggestions on how to Backup that much data without using 150 CDs or 25 DVDs?!

ParticipantWhat’s the nature of the disc problem? I do a fair amount of data-recovery using specialist software on a dedicated machine. Would hate to see your art collection and essential data get lost…

I have 2 Maxtor external HDs, one switches on, the other doesnt.
They both use the same cables, I have tried the cable for the working drive in the non working one, and it still doesnt work, where as the cable for the non working drive works in the working one. I therfore think there is something wrong with the power supply pluggy thing.

Get another hard drive, install the hard drive, copy files to hard drive. I can send you my Drive Image Pro 7, you can then schedule backups
