“Channel 4 is understood to have abandoned plans for a themed “wank week” to avoid further controversy.
The Media Guardian reports that a series of documentaries about masturbation scheduled for next month have been pulled from the channel’s schedule and may be broadcast outside a themed week at a later date.
The three films included Masturbation for Women, in which three women “experience the revolutionary masturbation tutorials of Dr. Betty Dodson, the world’s first orgasm coach”; I Can’t Stop Wanking, described as “an entertaining, thoughtful and moving film” that follows two men addicted to masturbation; and a film that follows the organisers and participants of last year’s Masturbate-a-Thon in London. “
