    True !
And even funnier will be tomorrow when I ring my boss at 6:45am to say I can’t make it in to work as I’ve broken my leg !

I watched the entire IT crowd and found it quite funny. But then again I was schooled on American and South African humour.
    IT crowd – funny
    Friends – Hilarious
    Scrubs – Mildly amusing
Little Britian – Funny if you haven’t seen a single episode, but boringly repetitive
West ham Beating Spurs – Side splittingly funny!!

I’m not a big fan of Little Britain. Too many catchphrases and jokes that rely on you being repulsed, rather than amused. However I do find the ‘fat fighters’ stuff that they do quite funny. Harry Enfield started all this catchphrase stuff, with Loadsa Money et al, but he didn’t just go “hmm, I don’t know how to finish this sketch. I know I’ll have an old lady piss herself.”

Mighty Boosh was good, particularly the episode ‘Nanageddon’. In fact I thought that episode was so good I wrote in to the BBC to tell them to give the Boosh guys a raise.

The IT crowd was just warming up. Give it another series and they’d have found their niche. The cast is top notch, but the characters have too many facets to be instantly understood, which is what most comedies rely on. e.g.

Here’s Joey Tribbiani – He’s the dumb one
    Here’s Ross Gellar – He’s a twat
    Here’s Chandler Bing – He’s a prick

I was on a plane to the US recently, and noticed they had the first 6 episodes of Little Britain playing back to back (well, video on demand, but effectively the same).

Having never seen it, but of course hearing about it, I settled into my seat, G&T in hand, and started watching.

First episode – very funny. Thought it was really good. Some bits were less than funny, but overall a good laugh rate.

Second episode – erm, is this a repeat? It’s just the same jokes in a different order. Not nearly as funny as I had just watched Ep1.

Third episode….stopped after 5 minutes. Same jokes.

So I fell in-love and out again with LB in an hour. It really was the same jokes just rehashed. Maybe when originally shown they relied on people not remembering from one week to the next.

So, sorry, not a Little Britain fan either.

Spoton Lensman, sums up Little britian in a nutshell

And I’ve gotta ask, are british actors/directors just lazy or lack confidence in their products ?
    Little Britian season 1 – 8 episodes
    It crowd season 1 – 6 episodes
    Red dwarf season 8 – 9 episodes
    Doctor who – 13 episodes

    Friends season – 24 episodes
    Scrubs season – 24 episodes
    Lost – 24 episodes
    24 all seasons – Yep – 24 episodes !
