Ok,
After watching several programs which have scared me for life, like Rogue Traders etc etc.. I have come to the decision that I require the assistance of a plumber/heating engy!
Now then, I have many a banging pipe in me house when the heating comes on, its fooking annoying.. but I’m loathed to seek someone from local gubbins..
I much prefer Word of Mouth or Recomendations.. so..
Anyone know a good plumber/heating engy in Manchester who I could trust not to rip me off thus keeping his life and me staying out of prison ๐
Cheers

Trapped air can cause knocks or vibrations, especiallyon starup when it start pumping hot water arround the system or it could be the water pump depending on your water sytem (If you have a seperate emersion than these are ususally a a largist cycliiner type unit with hot water pies going in either side) is knackered whilst are cheap (around รฦรโรยขรขโยฌร ยกรฦรขโฌลกรโรยฃ90) to replace.
Don’t get me wrong I’m not a plumber but I know a bit about how they work being from a construction background and both my brother and Dad are still in the industry. ๐

Yeah I’ve blead the fooker.. still no joy :/
Hippy, wheres the option for
“Loud banging noise in pipes when central heating timer kicks in at various times of day as per timer?” option…
I have a big fat cylinder in the bedroom in a cupboard.. is that what your refering too Lampot? How do i know whats fudged on it if anything?
I was kinda hoping for a none trip into the loft as I have a phobia about Tarantoola’s! ๐
March 26, 2007 at 10:50 am #49466LammieParticipantyeah it’s a round cylinder I think their made by Grundig if that’s fooked it will be making a large vibration noise usually the bearings or the presure valve is shot in them, but you should really seek advice from a Corgi Registered Heating Engineer rather than a plumber.
Is this not covered in your house insurance?

March 26, 2007 at 11:05 am #49468XDCiNSANEParticipantReet O, that seems to be working as it should, no bangs or owt
Might get this flushing thing and get someone to chuck it in the water tank in loft see if that does out ๐
again, appreciate your input.. and Corgi registered chap was who I meant instead of plummer .. again.. back to the scenario of.. being ripped of :/
but needs must I guess ๐

March 26, 2007 at 11:29 am #49470XDCiNSANEParticipantWhich means what exactly?

go to water stopcock and turn it down a bit. Have someone run a tap. When water runs out of tap slower you’ve turned the pressure down
