    the answer is in the URL as Dutchman has discovered. If you choose Global from the top right link that says “site” and grab the link from there it works :
    eg:
    [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IgwwvLuD68&locale=en_US&persist_locale=1[/youtube]
