PCI problem!

    Just tried to install my old Firewire PCI card in me PC, when i started it up the monitor didnt come on and the CPU fan was goin at full speed!
    Took out the PCI card and everything was back to normal 😕

    Does something have to be set up in the bios? I think all 3 slots are set on ‘Auto’, but im not sure im lookin in the right place!

    Any ideas?

    Shouldnt matter fella.. All the same as far as I am aware, except X16 slots which wouldnt effect you issue anyhoos :/

    vair odd.. possible faulty Firewire card? Have you put it back in old pc to see if its still working?

    have you tried installing it into another pci slot and seeing if the problem still exists ?

    Cheers! … gonna try another slot first and if that fails dust off me old pc and try it in there. Have got a sound card ive got to install as well, might try that in teh same slot n see what happens!
