ok, changed my OS back to Windows Vista, turned off User Control option, ran punkbuster svc and setup, but Im still getting kicked by PunkBuster with some sort of violation 9006 error.
Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this!

No, I dont have hacks installed.“violation 9006 error is only caused when multiple aimbots and wallhacks, invisible to XP, are detected by Vista”

Wish there was a game we all played. Im taking a nice long sabatical from 2142. Actually playing BF2 again and its a lot of funDoes your Vista account you’re accessing 2142 have admin rights Max? That was the problem I had (although with XP). If you don’t play as admin then punkbuster won’t let you onto servers.

i’m running visat on my laptop and its fine as i don’t use it for gaming but damn is it one paranoid bit of software!! everything i try and run/open i get a message asking me if i’m sure!! 😯
By the time i ready to upgrade to a new gaming rig with visat installed, all the probs should hopefully have been sorted.
Yup go into ur user security settings, u can turn it off, however, u get an annoying red sheild with a cross in ur system tray – this can also be turned off under ur control panel, its like “Dont Alert Me” or something, bit of searching and youll have it in no time.

Just set the user to have local machine admin rights – your network remains protected. I.e. a local admin can’t see all the network or eff-about on other PC’s.
But the whole pop up and asking “Are you sure” thing is fucking useless as a security measure. Let’s face it, 99.9% of people will say “Yes” as they have not got a clue, or just want to actually do something useful. And once the question has been answered, then what next?
And MS can now say “not out fault – we let users decide”….
