It’s been out about 4-5 weeks and cost last time I checked around 600 quid, hummm maybe next year. plus 8 meg of onboard cache mem lovely, I’ll ask minti what they are like considering he’s probably got 2 of them already.

They’re not a ‘true’ quad core chip, they’re two core 2 Duos bunged together. Doesn’t make a great deal of difference I guess, but there are some performance implications.

also the article in PCW said they had probs getting some games to work with them ie they just would not run!!

still for vid editing etc they would go like a rocket with the right software

Quadros have been around for a while (bout 4 months) Wait till they get cheaper.

Space 😕 Has Minti been filling you full of waffle or do you fancy him?

Quad CPU with quad SLI FTW! – Minti will probably get it first ( I got first dibs on ya gfx cards!)

Most of the games at present will not support quadro, As magicker says vid editing and other number crunchin apps will benefit. Hey, If you have money to burn then go buy one. I shall wait a while for the price to drop..

Quad cores were planned 3 years ago by AMD on their Sledgehammer type stuff .. nothing new here. For gaming you’re probably better off with a half decent single core though tbh… unless you fancy playing in windowed mdoe whislt browsing the net for goat porn whilst downlaoding goat porn on p2p … whislt you’re watching the goat porn on media player 😛 Best fof saving your money untill they come down in price, but by that time expect to be drooling other more cores on a chip 😛

Haha oi, oi you cheeky tart here was me thinking CC might have actually employed someone finally with a bit of tech knowledge….I know they missed the boat when they gave me the nod! Have I got it wrong? Maybe it’s a case of more money than sense 🙂

Damn you all anyway now having looked at OC I want to upgrade my PC too. THing is, I’m running on an AGP graphics card witha 3.4HT Intel chip. To upgrade Ill have to replace the MB, graphics card, and CPU!
