ParticipantAs im relatively new to online gaming ive got a question. Whats this Teamspeak thing that i keep hearing about. I normally use the VOIP on BF2 and on 2142. Is it any different and if so how do i get to use it? I realise this will more than likely sound like a dumb question but i would appreciate your help.
Cheers,

ParticipantTeamSpeak is a programme that basically allows us to talk to each other like a huge conferece call.
=XDC= have a server for TS, you log in, give a username, give the password, then join whichever “Room” we’re in, or whatever game.
We have people playing the same game in the same room to enable rapid pisstaking of other player etc.
Get the programme from http://www.goteamspeak.com
I will PM you server details 🙂

ParticipantDamn you Turks 😀

Participant🙂
btw, you will need to sort out your settings – I have voice acivation, as I have a head set… if you use a mic and speakers, then you have to set it to push to talk, as the sound from the speakers activates the mic causing a very annoying echo effect!
so have a play around in the settings bit, to find out what suits you… you can also assign mute keys for the mic and speakers – useful if people come in to the room and you dont want to look like a geek!

KeymasterTS can be a little annoying at times until you get used to it You can try instead going to Quick Connect and…..
Server Address = ts1.multiplay.co.uk:8847
Nickname = Mouse101uk (or whatever)
Login Name = leave blank
Password = tempOctober 29, 2006 at 7:53 pm #37375Alzir
KeymasterAlthough if you want to try following turks instructions there again, just make sure it you leave Log in name blank, and that you are joining as anonymous rather than registered.

ParticipantSomething I find invaluable with TS is Teamspeak Overlay”:
http://www.teamspeakoverlay.com
When you run that you get a text message overlayed on your game screen saying who is talking. Works fine with both BF2 & BF2142.

Hey that sounds pretty cool. Going to install it tonight thanks. I’m putting names to voices but sometimes in the heat of a battle I get a bit confused.

ParticipantDon’t like them keyboards. They look a bit plastic fantastic. I’ve got a Logitec Di Novo bluetooth thingame which does the job.
