Just unlocked the rifle rockets but they seem to be a harsh and unpredictable mistress. I think I’ve taken down a couple of folks with them, but they’ve not registered on my stats 😕
Anyway, how do you get the best out of them? They seem pretty good at taking out soldiers in the towerblocks at Belgrade or Berlin (just fire at the walls behind them) but pretty pants elsewhere. I’ve tried using the scroll wheel on the mouse to increase the range and fire at people behind other cover, but it doesn’t seem to work 😕
The Herzog shotgun seems to be pretty effective though.

“Pretty”
December 29, 2006 at 12:22 pm #42283airmessyParticipantI don’t know… I stopped using them about 10 min’s after i unlocked them 😛
Can’t kill shat with them, seem to get killed by them at ease though.

So yeah when using them? I aim at something, right click to get the distance, then adjust up and down with the mouse wheel depending on where I’m aiming from the point I’ve zoomed in on.
That might help? (But will probably far more likely confuse and complicate)
Oh and the shottie I found to be such a pile of crap. 3 shots?? I might need to give it another go but found it easier to switch to the pistol instead.
(back at work 🙁 )

YAWNAhh, so (as the kung fu master said) you have to right click to get the range and THEN you use the mouse wheel to adjust the range. Now, all becomes clear. No wonder my bloody rockets have been flying across the maps into infinity.
Re: Herzog Shotgun. Great on Titans for that extra ammo to take out consoles, but in narrow streets, I select the shotgun as my primary weapon and then one mouseclick and I’m back to the Voss ands ready to shoot. Trying to select the Herzog in a middle of a CQB is a nightmare, but this way works for me.
December 29, 2006 at 10:29 pm #42286XDCMADMAXParticipantvery good for taking those cars out with! Also useful for ranging when enemy are hiding in the alleys on the titan and for enemies hiding behind walls, the splash damage is pretty good.
December 30, 2006 at 10:55 am #42287XDCFluffyBunnyParticipantalso useful for camping dead bodies and waiting for a medic to run in. couple of rockets two more dead bodies 🙂
December 30, 2006 at 12:05 pm #42288XDCsPUNKerParticipantfluffy you bad boy!
personally dislike em since I put 3 of the buggers into a car that ronathon was parked in at a flag on cerbere landing. He then proceeded to shoot me as I reloaded cursing under my breath. They did bugger all damage and left me wondering why the fuck I bothered unlocking. Good on Titans tho I have to admitDecember 31, 2006 at 12:18 pm #42289XDCFluffyBunnyParticipantlol dumb medics are fair game. If you are going to run out and revive some poor sod in the middle of a fire fight then you deserve to be shot….feel sorry for the poor bugger who gets revived though 😕
December 31, 2006 at 2:07 pm #42290XDCsPUNKerParticipantespecially if they’ve just tabbed on to their spawn point map as you’re even more of a sitting duck 😆

Think I’d have about a grand buy now 😥
January 3, 2007 at 8:10 am #42293XDCNeonSamuraiParticipantThe more I use them, the more I like these rockets.
Fluffy the Medic Slayer is spot on for using these as the ultimate device for making anyone trying to revive someone else history. The whole changing the range on the rockets thing is a bit tricky, but if you’re firing down at some poor schlubs then it’s aces.
Good against folks in buggies, especially if you can fire one in through the window.
January 3, 2007 at 12:39 pm #42294XDCErratic-SpaceParticipantSeems so random when I attack a buggy with the rockets. Sometimes they hit, other times they vanish in to the big empty! I’ve change to attacking the front wheel for example now. Make sure the rocket explodes before impact and you should be alright.
