I have the opportunity to get either windows 7 or 8 for free (or both, but would prefer to only install one of them). I understand it is very early days for 8, but wondering if anyone has had any experience with it, and would recomend over 7? I assume the latter would be more stable… is this correct?

I’ve not done a massive amount of reading on the subject but my opinion right now is that there is no reason what so ever for a gamer to upgrade to windows 8. I’ve not looked into benefits it could offer other people but the only advantage I see it has over Win 7 is boot time. I’ll be sticking with Win 7 for at least another 2 to 3 years yet.
The app/driver support won’t be there for another 6 months and I’m lead to believe unless you’ve got a touch screen machine, it’s a waste of time.
