Like that fix to the backburner, assuming I’ve read it right, that gives you a chance to spin around and survive now yea? Probably just increase my suicide rate though, rocket splash damage is a little annoying that close 🙁
yea thats how I read it too, truly annoying it was aswell.

ParticipantIf it wasn’t a rather obvious pink, I may not have spotted it either.
Only Vic could have found that 🙂

Season 2 in the making is it?

Participantscience and labor are pretty good. Labor isn’t the best looking but it plays well.

What’s the 40% reduction? Was it the amount of damage you lost for shooting at your feet as solider? If so what are the parameters for rocket jumping now, since you still only lose 50 max for it…or am I wrong?
Before, if as a soldier you shot a wall (or someone) and you were standing in the rocket damage radius you would take about half the damage you would normally take from an enemy rocket. Now what happens is that unless you are shooting directly at the floor you will not get that 40% reduction it is almost as if you’d been hit by an enemy rocket. Sounds harsh, but the radius isn’t huge and the reality is that 1 rocket rarely kills a soldier plus they also seem to get the most Medic love. I’m guessing it was the easiest way to make the pyro airfist return the rocket as full damage without having to recode a heap of stuff. Although crit rockets change colour when returned I notice.
I wonder what happen if you returned a rocket and an enemy scout ran in the way and caught it…because by the above rational it remains a friendly fire rocket….hmmm must test. You would hope the scout would die in a heap.

ParticipantYea Witchers ace, I just wish the fighting was a bit more than just a timed click. Severance was the only game I’ve played that really had sword fighting down. It had it’s faults, but still rates as one of my best games ever, atmospheric as you like. Still play it now, some nice mods out there too. What I need is Severance 2 but I don’t think there’s anything close (please correct me if I’m wrong) and I think Rebel Act died penniless vagrants so no chance of them making a sequel…… 🙁
New Witcher, wonder if old saves will work? Don’t fancy starting again really.

ParticipantThey nerfed the soldiers 40% reduction in order to make the pyro airfist work (i.e rocket returns and does full damage) as I understand it, so although it doesn’t affect rocket jumps you might want to switch to shotty to kill anyone standing next to you. You still survive it if you’re being medic’d but you’ll definitely notice a increase in suicides up close. Have to say the soldier had it too good in that dept but I think that the soldier ammo nerf that came before was a bit too heavy..
I read an interview with Robin Walker prior to the Pyro update he reckons they thought about releasing all the unlocks etc at once but it would have been a nightmare to balance. Have to agree though BeerM the 8 pyros per team does my head in so I’m playing mass effect until it dies down. Luckily they’ve reduced the amount of achievements to unlock milestone 3 only need 22.

ParticipantIt was on a TF2 forum, but it’s clearly a photoshop of the pyro release as the wording for the map release is identical.

ParticipantWell got them all yesterday, glad you only need 22 for all 3 unlocks.
Flare gun is pretty good against snipers but not much else, might stick to the shotty.
Backburner is great, you lose the airfist but gain an extra 50HP, its the best ambush weapon. I had this with a medic on the C cap of Gravelpit and no one got up. That said, the Airfist is equally good at pushing off ubers from the top, causes a lot of rage quits :).
Axtinguisher, it looks the part and is fun when you go in pairs with 1 pyro ligting the players and the ther pyro spamming the axe, great fun. On your own your probably still better off with the shotgun.
XDCJuDgE-MenTaL
ParticipantYea you’d hope there would be some skill required to use it too. Also going to be one of those things that will be annoying with high pings…like face stabs.

In addition to the three unlockable Pyro weapons, we’ve made a significant addition to the base Pyro flamethrower. By hitting the alt-fire key, the Pyro is able to produce a blast of compressed air that knocks enemies away, and redirects enemy projectiles. It’s a highly versatile tool, allowing Pyros to get away from nearby enemies after igniting them, to kill enemy soldiers with their own rockets, or to separate enemy Medics from their healing targets. In particular, it allows a skilled Pyro to contain an enemy invulnerability push, and even to separate the Medic completely if the surrounding terrain supports it.
Nice… eat rocket, soldier boys…. Not sure that allowing the pyro to seperate the medic from his “patient” during Uber is such a good thing. Mind you Sentrys do that too….hmmm.
From that sniper vid you can see one of the unlocks..
