20 gigabytes remaining will certainly NOT fuck with your performance. Having about 20 megabytes left certainly WILL so go for it. Or alternativly create a new partition with your C drive and save them to the partition.
Also if you do save them on C then run a defrag overnight if you are paranoid about performancelike what wet and Neon says . If your VCR has phono “in” on it (yellow phono socket” and audio “white and red sockets” then you may be able to do it using mini jack to phono cables. If you have scart “in” on your VCR you can buy one of them scart plugs that you can plug phono cables into but they dont always seem to work 😕 bare in mind that on the camera itself the mini jacks may be the even minier jacks that are sometimes used on electronic equipment (lord knows why they had to complicate things even more)

seriously I couldnt be arsed to read down that. All Im interested in is what spec you have with regards to ram, motherboard, proccessor and (with regards to film) most importantly graphics card. Also ,of course, plenty of hard drive space and firewire connections on your motherboard if you are going to work with DV
