ParticipantBear in mind branson doesn’t have shit to do with ntl: apart from selling them Virgin Mobile, you shouldn’t be downloading movies you don’t legally own in one format or another and that they have introduced traffic shaping -_- If you hammer you connection @ max speed for 20mins you get capped to half speed for the rest of the day… not to mention the probl;ems thousands ofpeople have been having with their connections (myself included) since the rebranding =/
Where have you got this figure from? From what I have read, it is being trialled in Swansea and has had a trial in the past around Preston, and that it will only affect 5% of users
also
Ntl:telewest believe this policy is justified and permitted according to clause 4.3 of their Terms & Conditions:
We reserve the right to monitor and control data volume and/or types of traffic transmitted via the Interactive Services and/or Internet Services. In the event that you exceed the usage allowances applicable to your Internet Services as detailed in the User Policy, we reserve the right (at our sole discretion) to reduce, suspend or terminate your Internet Services. During any time of reduction or suspension, you will remain liable for the payment of your original level of Internet Services charge. We also reserve the right (at our sole discretion) to re-grade your Internet Services to a different speed and/or usage allowance at the appropriate charge.
Read the small print in the contract you signed. Personally I see no problem with it as NTL estimated 10% of users using 70% of capacity, it would seem a little unfair for those who get shit service for the dsame price because some twat likes downloading loads of stuff.

ParticipantAkira – OK, but not my favourite,
Cowboy Bebop, loved every second of the series, the film was ok too, although ruined because the guy I watched it with thought subtitles were gay (only option for me with foreign films TBH)
Fist of the North Star- saw a couple on C4, would love to see them all, was ace from recollection.XDC_Wolf

ParticipantGoing to have a “chat” with them later, that is a proper sit down, air the greivances I have about them, without doing wwhat they do which is ring up the landlord for every minute thing either myself or my other decent housemate does.
As regards hacking the router, I have discovered the relevant passwords, but it would be fairly obvious what I have done, and quite frankly I wish to remain some sort of moral high ground.
If this chat doesn’t resolve it I have two options, call in the Universtiy accomadation services for independent arbitration, or call in the landlord and moan at him. I don’t want to do that because I don’t think he should be called for every little thing, but if I give them a chance then I can at least go to him and say “I have tried every reasonable line of reaso with them”

ParticipantI cannot abide St. Paddys day. Why the hell do so many non Irish people amke an excuse to drink to something they have nothing to do with (It’s not as if the majority can even claim Christianity amongst their attachments to any Saint) especially when no one gives a Rats Ass about St George.
I personally feel that the rabid devouring of Guiness by peole who don’t drink it any other time is quite frankly appaling susceptebility to advertising and peer pressure.
On the plus side I have never cheered the French on in rugby, but yesterday I did, I’ve had enough of Irish whining about “600 years of opression” every time theey loose to England. That and the fact that every Irishman, scotsman and welshman would have been cheering on France were it England in the Irish situation. Never have I enjoyed the Irish tears as much as yesterday, especially as they were victims of their own greed in the last few minutes!
