But it still means that running a mixed server will see half the people playing get booted when it switches to a booster map.
And thats exactly why i’m shying away from buying the booster………..i’ve bought the others and enjoyed the few games i’ve played but its no fun when your on a full server one minute then the next game sees you flying around solo or sniping at tree branches because very few others have bought the booster pack…….me thinks EA made a bit of a feckup with selling the boosters, especially now that they must have some revenue stream from the in-game ads (once they appear), peeps are thinking why do i still have to pay for additional content when i used to get it free and now your also getting cash from ads in my game ???
I guess with the next BF game (if there is one) they will no doubt look at charging us to play online (on top of server fees)…….or maybe i’m just being cynical ๐how will it incorporate itself into the usual game without kicking peeps whos don’t have the game ? Will the maps come as part of the patch but the extra content is in the booster pack ?

it still won’t change the fact that if you haven’t got the booster pack and the map changes to a booster map on the server then your out of there………i’m really not sure about getting this booster pack only to play it half a dozen times then forget it ever existed…………its not for the cost, heck a fiver or a tenner ain’t exactly gonna make a difference to my lifestyle but its the point that i won’t get to play it as much as i’d like to……much like EF or AF……..or like insane and a woman

actually, i may do a proper upgrade once vista and DX 10 are well established (2008!!) and there is a game i like out that will truly benefit from the bells and whistles that DX10 can provide….until then i’ll stick with the current rig that i bought off pharty over a year ago and shall perhaps consider a small upgrade of my gfx card and ram just to give BF2142 a bit more sparkle!!!! ๐

is there any confirmation of a DX10 AGP card in the making ?? Though i guess i would then need to upgrade to vista in order to benefit from it…………may go for the 1950 512mb

i’m liking the look of that keyboard……….may need to invest in one at some point as well as a new gfx card and ram………. ๐
been playing on our server for a while today and got to say there is a damn load of new maps, they don’t take an age to load and install as its done automatically and to be honest i’d forgotten how damn hard and challenging the game is………..may need to pop in a bit more often as its been fun.
