Now that all is tranquil… just as an intellectual exercise… lets talk!
……………….I cant believe I seem to be losing what seems to me to be a very clear cut argument.
I feel like Im insulting peoples intelligence here by stating the bloody bleeding obvious… but these are ‘the facts’ as I see them.
Telling someone the end of a book is a spoiler… it doesent matter what things look like at the start – there are things called plot twists… which by definition YOU DONT FUCKING EXPECT AT THE START OF NOVELS! I dont give a crap how obvious you think it is now in retrospect…. I find it hard to believe that this book gave you a cast iron 100% guarantee of the ending within 5 pages. Even if it did….. dont just expect everyone else to have the same insight as yourself!
The simple fact is that I will NOT read this book now because I know far too much about it… ok, its not the end of the world… seriously I am not going to cry about it
but I will be damned if I am going to walk away from the point of principle involved. I could tell you the end of Moby Dick or Pride and prejudice and argue that you should have known all along………. they are over a hundred years old noob! Would that be right?
The most ironic thing here is that when Legit got abused for spoiling some crappy TV series that I personally didnt really give a shit about he came up with really lame arguments along the lines of… it was obvious what was going to happen, you could spot the clues miles off…. blah blah blah. Why Wipers is getting off with saying pretty much the same thing is beyond me!

I thought you just made a stupid mistake… fair enough… no need to go on about it. but are you actually trying to say that revealling the end of books/films is ok to do? who gives a crap how old they are or whether a film has been made about them before?
news flash…. I sometimes read books that are a few years old… and I haven’t seen every film ever made…. so please follow common practice and at least put spoiler warnings on.

Yes we do use such lingo…. it helps keep us down with the kids and aids rapport building 😀 I have also been known to use the word ‘sweet’ in relation to a patients progress 🙂
Talking about doctors communication skills – I’m reminded of a story (hopefully apocryphal – but knowing the surgeon involved Im not sure that it isnt true) of a guy going to an outpatients clinic in Dundee when I was there to be told
“I have some good news and some bad news for you.”
“Ok doctor – whats the good news?”
“Well the good news is the test results are back and we now know whats wrong with you…… the bad news is….. its terminal.” 🙄
Fair enough m8 – I’m not saying blogging is useless…. just that people have to be aware that with the freedom of expression that the net brings come the freedom to spout a pile of crap which has the danger of being accepted as being of more worth than it really is. i.e. sometimes having an editor filtering the stuff you produce can be a useful process.

NOLF2? I only got round to buying that last year and have to say I was dissapointed with it. The original seemed better somehow… though some of the setpieces (i.e. the tornado in the trailer park) was definately worth seeing.

Like most blog writers… they publish their stuff on the web because no reputable print publisher would accept them…. though he has turned the tables it seems in being so succesful as a blogger that he has gained the critical mass to get print published after all despite lack of ability.

Heather has re-edited it for me and the wee video is now looking quite cool despite the waves being a bit crap… shes got a knack for these things I reckon 🙂 I need to get some video of me in overhead waves now!
Ah cheers guys. Trouble is I am kind of stuck without BB – so if I was going to download something to use it would have to be through my work computer – so cant be illegal and cant be a big file.
Maybe it was WET who did my last GIF? I cant remember TBH – but I liked the results.
I just want something similar – maybe a 3 second loop of me turning onto a wave.
