I’ll be getting it, but on PC.

Same service as FIFA 10. So for me the EA servers were laggy as hell and I never once got a game (on 360 or PC) where I could play properly. But everyone else here seemed to be okay. I can only guess that if you’ve got a cable broadband you’ll probably have no problems but if you’re still on a telephone line it could be crap.

Of course, you’d have to like the game anyway – demo is here but you’ll need a 360 controller to play it – mouse/keybord is a non starter.

whats all that aboot if so ??

No, I bought it on PC because it was 15 quid cheaper and I guessed that since EA made no attempt to patch FIFA 10 on the 360 I’d at least have a decent chance of getting it patched/modded so it worked on PC. Turned out okay – one official patch and one unoffical one later and the PC manager mode seems bug free.

No doubt I’ll be in a minority of one, but I didn’t think this film was any good at all. Can’t remember ever feeling so utterly ripped off after paying to watch a film (which is admittedly, not very often). That’ll teach me to flag up films before I’ve seen them.

If you want a decent British comedy get a copy of “In The Loop” instead. Now that was funny.

Better still, get yourselves “Street Trash” or “Ninja Terminator” and enjoy a classic.

    Whats MP like?

I’d recommend you try Colonization Doc. Similar but I always preferred it to the Civilisation games and they updated it a year or so ago. You could probably get it on the cheap to see if it’s your kind of game.

Cheers nom, I’ll have a look. Going to get some co-op missions to do with my mates. No doubt about it, co-op Flashpoint was the best online game I’ve ever played.

Reinstalled this recently – I’ve got a decent quad core these days and can run this on maximum settings with the viewing distance turned up to full and by christ it looks good. Except for the animations of course, which can be as daft as ever. The voice acting on this latest one is hilarious though. Did they go to some mong hospital for the actors?

Iron Man just struck me as ridiculous, either have proper killer robots in a film or don’t bother at all.

Here’s how this type of film should be done

Can anyone point me to a site that hosts some decent British forces skins for this game?

The first track reminded be a bit of early 90’s Scottish rock band Baby Chaos for some reason. Think it was the singer.

They could do with sounding a bit more like melodic art blues combo Blood For Blood though

Yeah, I noticed Turks. Don’t really have that many DVD’s though. Even so, I assume I could always rip them onto my portable hard drive and watch them on this thing anyway.

In a way which is totally legal and above board of course.

Cheers Turks, for 15 quid I’ll give that a go. I’ll be able to watch gentlemas special interest films on my big telly as well – bonus.

I did play on the Xbox quite a bit Insane but it was actually FIFA 10 that made me ditch the thing completely and go back to PC gaming. For some reason I got a terrible connection to Live when I used it (despite the fact my PC connects just fine to online games) even when I could connect for more than 5 minutes the half second delay I got while playing FIFA made it a pain in the arse.

But worst of all playing online broke all my save games so that the game just kept freezing for some unfathomable reason. A problem I’ve seen mentioned on the FIFA forums a few times, so it wasn’t just me.

Shame, because for all my moaning about it I did have some decent games on the machine. I’ll probably leave it over the summer and see if I’ve got reason to replace it, get a PS3 instead or just not bother. Being a tight arse affords me the privilege of seeing how I feel a bit later.

I saw that Hurt Locker film ages ago on a knock off Nigel copy. Kind of assumed that it was some kind of tongue in cheek piss take of a war film. What with that bloke refusing body armour and stripping down to his effing duds to diffuse bombs, picking up bombs by their wires, chucking his radio away, and the mandatory rescuing of the SAS again.

Apparently though, it’s supposed to be serious. No, straight up, honest. It’s actually not supposed to be nonsense at all. Or so I’m told anyway.

That being the case, I would urge you all to watch “Black Devil Doll”, which by those standards must be the most profound social commentary on the struggle of the average African American which has ever been made.

On the subject of which – tomorrow, Wednesday 17th March on BBC1 at 9 pm – a chance to see again one of the great comedies of recent times.

Whatever you do, don’t miss it.

Didn’t rate Fallout 3, its good but the clunky combat and dire 3rd person view took the shine off for me 😐

Spugs is being kind. Fallout 3 was godawful. Unless of course the idea of seeing exactly the same slow motion animation of a giant rat having it’s head shot off 10,000 times constitutes a good game.

Borderlands has more of the atmosphere of the previous Fallout games than the third one and is a good open world shooter to boot.

On PC I’d say Mass Effect 2, Call of Pripyat or The Witcher are worth a look.

My mate tells me GTA Iv is a mess on the PC, though it’s decent enough on the consoles. I preferred Saints Row 2 but that’s supposed to be a bad PC port as well.
