I’ve been playing so much recently, my left hand is killing me. I mean, it’s really painful, stuck in the ‘WSAD’ position…. Now, I can understand this afflicting the OAPs of you lot, like OldPhart, but I’m only 25! How can I be in this much discomfort? 😕
Lucky for some things, I’m not left-handed…. 😛
August 20, 2006 at 9:10 pm #32468XDCNeonSamuraiParticipantNot quite the same thing, but when I was a younger man back in the 90’s I used to watch ‘Cindy Crawfords Workout Video’ so much that my right arm was permanently at a 90% angle.

August 21, 2006 at 9:08 am #32472von smallhousenParticipantDehydration might be the first point of call, or you could take Cod liver oil for a week – you’ll notice the difference, if you don’t you’re most likley terminally ill and should think about who you are going to leave all your games to.
August 21, 2006 at 2:42 pm #32473xdczigzagParticipantObviously the more senior players are highly trained and experienced, the elite, if you will. Often starting gaming careers on the Zx-81 or Spectrum, they are battle-hardened with incredibly honed gaming instincts and the bodies of Adonis..
You are, at 25, still in bootcamp, and injuries are to be expected…most guys your age should stick to the trainers, AKA consoles ,until hitting gaming maturity mid-late 30’s when you may be able to handle a PC rig….

LOL, I had a speccy and a zx 81 with the mahoosive 16K expansion pack!
Great fun typin 16 pages of code then running it
“syntax error”
Fook!
August 21, 2006 at 4:35 pm #32476XDCErratic-SpaceParticipantI typed in that bat and ball game at the back of the 128kA manual 🙂
Loved my 48k Spectrum. Had loads of games and never completed one! How can you not love something that shows a high class cloaking device as a flashing purple screen in game? Graphics to make u cry Ha.
August 22, 2006 at 4:18 pm #32477xdczigzagParticipantI bought the ZX 81 mags with the game code on the back page…you’re absoloutely right hippy, they never, ever fookin worked!!! and typing in on that keyboard was a ‘mare..
Still, I learnt basic pretty quickly as I spent hours just trying to work out what the problem was and how to fix it… 👿
Remember how annoying the spectrum was in loading a game when it was on tape and the tape got a miniscule bit of dust on it, and the bloody thing would stop loading after 10 minutes sounding as if you had your ear to a modem??!!!!
OK OK things have improved slightly…
I don’t think graphics have improved much since jet set willy though …
August 22, 2006 at 8:42 pm #32478XDC-snellParticipantAhhh the spectrum’s dead flesh keyboard 😯

…oh yes …the rubber keyed speccy was my weapon of choice… DT Decathlon + hypersports..! and sometimes Rampage!… not sure if ‘bodies of Adonis.. ‘ describes me… more like body of Butterbean!
August 22, 2006 at 9:33 pm #32480XDCMADMAXParticipantrampage was a great game, as was ikari warriors *where it all started*
August 23, 2006 at 12:15 am #32481XDCErratic-SpaceParticipantRampage rocked. In fact I might go dl that now.
Did anyone play Enlightment Druid 2? I thought that was a wicked game except that you had to load the final few levels through tape which meant if you died you had to reload the game from scratch….another 12 minute wait hoping there’s no dust on the tape!
