    I was originally with nildram who were fantastic, never any problems with connections; websites loaded up quirky etc and when i was gaming always had a great ping. They got bought out by talk talk i think and recently i’ve been having issues with websites failing to load and the connection just dropping.

    I’ve no idea if it’s the provider or my pc (mac mini) and wondered if there was any way of checking? Also, which providers are you guys using? I’ve been thinking of switching over to BT infinity but don’t know how good they are for torrent downloads and gaming so would appreciate any advice.

    I would never go back to bt. There whole uncapped usage is bullshit. Its uncapped as long as you dont go over what they think is reasonable. I went over a few times iirc and they raped my bandwith during peak hours.
    I went to sky and i have not looked back. Also they are doing fiber now for £20 a month and there uncapped usage is truly uncapped they dont give a shit if your traffic is a tb a month. I have not had any bother with the network at all in almost 3 years.

    Had a look at sky this morning, tempted by them as they offer similar speeds to bt infinity and unlimited data.

    Just signed up with sky and their fibre service. Unlimited data, lower line rental than BT and unlimited phone calls on and off peak both in the UK and abroad. Shall see what it’s like, if no good then shall look around again next year.

    Feeling the urge to get back into pc gaming, it’s like I’ve been in a coma for 3 years and am now awakening!

    haven’t got fibre or else i’d go for virgin fibre as well…….cockgoblin 😉
