I keep getting outbid 🙁 Well, if nothing else, I’ve ramped up what you’ll get from the sale 🙂
It’s over £100 now. If the guy backs out, let me know and I’ll take it for that.

ParticipantWell, I lost, but it may have been a lucky escape.
Just done some background research, and to get this into my Shuttle I would need a new PSU (£75-£100 for a SilentX model that fits in the small case) , and I may need to resinstall XP to get around an incompatibility with the AGP Gart driver limiting me to 16 bits per pixel rather than 32 that I need.
Maybe I’ll just carry on as I am at the moment, and do a whole system upgrade in a few months 🙁

ParticipantFor those of you still interested in AGP, Toms Hardware has just done an article about updating your old system with a new card:

nice card
whats the power set up like nom ?? does it use the 4 or 6 pin molex connecotrs ? If it uses the 6 pin does it come with a convertor ?? I’m not sure of the spec of my power supply (think its 450w but will have to remove it to check) but i don’t think it has 6 pin molex on it, i’m currently using a 6800GT so hopefully the power requirement will be similar.
Sure looks tempting for £150 or £190 for the turbo (factory overclocked) HIS version.

Cheers Neon that was really handy. I think I’m going to go with the 1950 end of next month. I’m lucky at the moment because my psu is already 500 so that’s all good as well!

ParticipantDo we know yet of a DX10 AGP card?
That’s what I really need (having just drooled over my keyboard watching Crysis demo).
I think otherwise I might just suffer in not so much silence with my current one. Seems a bit silly really buying a non-DX10 card now hmmm?
January 15, 2007 at 9:45 pm #42904XDCMADMAX
ParticipantMe too space, had a chat with McQueen, going to wait for DX10 card in March, which should be same price as 8800. No point buying 800 now.
January 15, 2007 at 10:55 pm #42905nOm
Participanttbh your probably better off waiting 6 months for dx10 cards (ati), from what i’ve heard driver support is a bit wank, let others do the testing for you 😀 and see what sorta games are gonna come out.
only got my dx9 1950 ati cause it only cost £49 after selling my 6800gt on e bay 😀January 21, 2007 at 9:57 am #42906XDC wild egg tamer
Participantis there any confirmation of a DX10 AGP card in the making ?? Though i guess i would then need to upgrade to vista in order to benefit from it…………may go for the 1950 512mb
