Right then, to quote XDC Seven….
I’ve just logged on here and replied to shit in the first time in absolutely ages…..
Who else rarely uses forums these days?
We’re close to being 19 years old though, and despite the times, we’re badly out of touch with each other. That has a lot to do with me just going on a 5 or 6 year bender (honestly I can’t remember when it started), but reading comments here today and having spoken to many of the regulars over the last few years, it’s clear we don’t have a united group anymore, it’s a loose association of cliques.
Is there a way we can get back together? I mean, I actually always hoped we’d have it the way it is now, but with a bit more structure to it (which is outdated), however without interaction between people other than the old school, and slightly newer old school, and also those who were never that vocal back in the day (but remain), it’s difficult to call us a group. I never really envisaged this loose a group but I do find it interesting how many people have kept the xdc tag over the years despite this.
That suggests we want to keep in touch with the people we all started this with, and I’m all for that, but how is the best way to do that atm?
I’m also very aware of hostility towards some people who’ve joined younger than the majority now, but who I agreed to let join. Wipers used to object to the honesty I wanted to be on display, and these guys still have access to this forum btw (they don’t use it, and I may well direct them here), but I’d like to hear a bit of feedback about that? I’ll defend my position on it, but we’re all adults and more importantly, all living in much different worlds of experience, so I’m interested how people view it? On the same note, is it worth XDC recruiting in future or are we now a group of friends who’ll keep the tag and see it out until we give up the ghost?
A few points there, I have more, but lets discuss it anyway. If no replies in a few days I’ll start spamming the topic on steam 🙂

We could do a mass re-install of BFBC2 or BF3 as I feel we were super active with those games and a lot of people will have them. I’ve not played a hell of a lot of multi-player PC recently due to just being generally bored with PC games but I think if we can get a big, regular group going again, it’d draw me back in.
Regarding the newer guys, I was an advocate for them, they were young but not stupid and generally pretty funny. They could be annoying at times but then so can I.

It would be great to see more of the old guard making an appearance but guess many have moved on with work, children etc so haven’t the time or commitment. I don’t get to play as much as i’d like because of work but intend to try and change that.
A few of us are on whatsapp so maybe if a few more get on that we can chat directly on that. Regards newer members, i’ve not met them so can’t really comment either way but maybe we need to attract new blood into the team to make up the shortfall.

We definately seem to have all split up and playing different games however a few of us still play together mainly on BF1. I think what with BFV being released this year, it would be a good opportunity for us to regroup and get back in TS again.

Hands are a little tied on the overhaul Max, but I agree BF5 may well be the game. I’m going to get it for sure but I’m going to be busy if I do, so unsure how much time I’ll have for it unless i have a successful gofundme campaign :lol:. I have BF1 but really can’t bring myself to play it as I didn’t like it in beta and don’t think they’ve resolved all the issues. BFV may get me or may not, pubg I liked the idea of, but I played too much of the mod and really was bored by it in the end, so have never bothered with the full release. The main problem I have to get over is converting back to a game where the odds are even, as PS2 really spoiled me in that regard, but I’ll try with BF5.

Bf1 mainly using VOIP and discord. JAR dunno if them guys have another discord they are using but the one ive created has had its details here on the forums. My bad if the link was dead.
Hi guys, I haven’t been playing much recently and since TS died I’ve only dipped in to Pubg occasionally. I do have a habit of leaving it logged in whilst I go for a smoke and then forget about it so apologies if I’ve not replied to messages. Not sure what happened to TS, it didnt work for ages for me, just tried it now and its working again. I got bored of PS2, BF1 people stopped playing and I got the Witcher 3 so more SP chilled out and not the adrenaline filled MP action. I’m getting old.
Didn’t like some of the new guys, but I couldn’t give a flying if you let them in, they’ve as much right to be here as I have.

Since I am now self employed, I can technically play during the day when you guys are all playing (im 6 hours behind). However my wife and I are expecting our first in September, so chances are, I will have no time at all!

I wasnt aware that we had recruited new guys! Remember when we were thinking about recruiting b(thats it) – I believe he was too young, but probably in his early 30s now!
