What a great game last night, 0-0 untill the 28th minute of extra time then the Italians manage to put 2 behind the net to secure themselves a place in the final!!!
I watched it at an Italian club and the atmosphere was so thick it could be cut, after the game i had a drive around town and the crowds was something i hadn’t witnessed since Italy won in 1982; Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus and Soho were full of fans, singing, dancing and cheering and not a spot of trouble! I stayed in the area with Mrs. WeT walking around the various spots and it was an incredible sight……i spoke to a couple of coppers who told me that they hadn’t made one arrest so far and that they were enjoying the carnival type feel of the evening, unlike Englands last game where they made 15 arrests for fighting BEFORE the game!
Anyhows, i look forwards to tonights game, hopefully it will be as entertaining as last nights. 😛

had £30 on the Argies at 9-1 … was gutted when they folded like the big falklands lovin people that they are…
still got £10 on the Italians to win placed whent hey were 9-1 too,
if portugal make it, and then win the world cup, thats it, personal war against portugal ensues…

Hmmm….think I was watching a different game to you guys. I saw a good competive game between great teams, but also
I saw Italians doing 3/4 rollovers when they were fouled.
Saw them play on when one of their own lay injured
Saw perrotta go for a ball with Lehmann, Lehmann clears it, Perrotta looks to see what happens with the ball, and the next thing he crumples into an injured ball baying for a penalty/cardSorry to say but this match just confirms the Italians as a bunch of swandivers, just a pity they won’t meet Portugal as this would be an interesting diving contest !

it was certainly a better performance from them than any of their other games, and there was no way as much diving or playing up as recent games…..it would certainly be better if they done away with the dramatics completely but i guess thats asking too much……
Regards playing on, i think they were pretty fair to be honest, a few times players went down the ball was kicked out of touch, one moment i can recall an Italian went down, the German kicked it out then when the throw was given to the Italian he kicked it out for the Germans…….on the down side the opposite happened once and the Germans just kept the ball, guess they must of been feeling the preasure 😉 😛 😀
Should be interesting to see what happens on Sunday, France have beaten Italy in 2 recent finals; the World cup final of 1994 and in Euro 2000…… 😆
Well yes, it was a better performance in that their diving wasn’t crucial like in the Australian game.
And BTW, France beat Brazil in the 98 WC, and Brazil beat Italy in the 94 WC finals

Decet enough France-Portugal game tonight, I’m glad the Frenchies won. Now I’m-a rootin’ for Italy in the Final…
I want the ref from the Germany Italy game to referee every game from now on, he was fantastic! Aside from that soft looking foul in the penalty area for which he awarded a freekick, he didn’t stand for any diving nonsense at all and got nearly everything right.
