I unlocked the laser sight for the SCAR last night (yay).. but does it actually help? or is it just a good way to let the enemy know your position?
And.. flashlights! (torch!!! for us British Folks) theyre annoying arent they!
Are they designed to help the user or hinder the attacker?Seems they do both.

What are the best attachments/customisations to have on any particular weapon?
Personally I hate the torches as they blind your own team mates as much as the enemy. Haven’t used the laser sight so can’t say really, they only give your position away if you are aiming at someone and they look at you but I will try them over the weekend and see if they make a difference
I thought they were visible to all all the time. even side on.. but ill keep my eye out to see if i can see them.
ive never equipped any of my weapons with either the flashlight(torch) or laser dot thingy, as i think its gay,lol
so you dont rekon they add to your accuracy or anything.. im talking about behind the scenes. i.e. have the coders added something if youve got this sight or that attachment. like why use this heavy barrel ive seen people using? i assume its to steady the weapon and reduce climb?
i just thought there might be a point to the laser sight? if its just bling then i wont bother using it.
Im pretty sure theres some coding that slows down your reaction time if you have either the laser or torch flashed in your face. But that might just be that Im shit slow anyway 😉
The laser sight improves accuracy when firing from the hip, but the flashlight is just a dirty bastard tactic. I don’t use either on my main gun so I can’t tell how good they are from that side, but from my point of view flashlights give position away as much as they may benefit you. Lasers also give away position but to a lesser degree and one day i’d like to test the accuracy bonus.
Don’t let the perception that the flashlight is a dirty tactic put you off from using it though, but feel free to act morally superior if you don’t.
On the fence with the red laser sight, I use it a lot but whether it helps – who knows? It would be good to test it, but the faggots at EA have stopped the ability to play around before the server game starts
Are you that hardcore that you cant afford 10 secs in game to see if it shoots straight ??? 😯
i have used the flashlight…..and found in a firefight you get away without getting hit as much….your opponent is blinded and is praying and spraying…..its mighty satisfactory when you do cap him even though he is blinding you when it happens.
to see the effect be on the opposing team as max…..he uses this gheyley tactic regularly 😆
i stopped using it cos there were a few mumbles from teammates over TS that i was blinding them as well which happens…..so if you do use it….be ready on the ‘T’ button too toggle it on or off.
but yes in a firefight…..it makes a big difference having it with you…..you see him clearly….he sees the light at the end of the tunnell where st micheal is ready to greet his bullet sodden corpse at the pearly gates !!!
I use it as a standard part of the gun. I used to use the red dot site for the fire from hip accuracy but it makes little difference. There are 2 reasons for using the torch:
1: I am a total dickhead, ask matt, he knows
2: It frustrates the enemy, making them lose concentration.
