Im a member of a Battlefield 3 platoon named Open For Business. I would like to ask you if you are interested in a friendly 16v16 match. We believe that the normal 8v8 matches which are offered from websites such as ESL and Eu-DOM do not carry the battlefield spirit. This is the reason why we are actively searching Platoons like yours in order to arrange friendly matches, have a great time and play BF3 as its meant to be played!

I’m certainly interested, and agree with your sentiments re the BF spirit in large games. Our experience from earlier titles though is that 16 v 16 games are very difficult to organise, and normally involve pulling in friends from other groups to help boost the sides, with each side scrambling at the last minute to make up numbers. I don’t know if you ever got involved with the Jolt league a few years back for bf42, but it was quite the nightmare for team leaders even just trying to pull together a team of 12 🙂 I do like the idea though, so we’ll check who’d be interested in this internally, then get back to you as soon as possible.
Out of interest have you guys been playing BF games for long?
Yeah I know what you mean and the possibility of this happening. However I dont see a problem to call a few friends if necessary. As I said the match will be friendly, the main idea is to have fun and make new friends while maintaining some of that competitive spirit which makes the game even more enjoyable.
Btw I am also talking to some quite large gaming communities in regards to such friendly events. So if we enjoy playing together, in the future me might even fill a 54+ slot server against one of those platoons. ^_^ (e.g. something like XDC and 04B vs (the named platoon))
As for our player base. The majority of our members are playing battlefield since bf1942. Personally I was big bf1942 junkie back in the days, I also played Vietnam and some bf2142. However, I started playing again (more regularly) since the release of BC2.
Anyway, I hope that we will be able to organize a match like that and have some epic fun ^_^.
