If any are interested, I know a few will be, here are the piccies from my Battlefield Study of Pegasus Bridge and Normandy, the Bocage and beach landings.

Feel free to ask any questions about the photos, it’s probably quicker to dl them and do a slideshow for you BB hogs 🙂
August 5, 2006 at 7:31 pm #31589XDC wild egg tamerParticipanthad a quick look at the first few pics mate and they look great. I was out there a couple of years back but didn’t get as far as the beaches (made it to pegasus bridge before we had to make our way back to Calais) but we did get to see the Merville gun battery………an amazing feat by the paras to take such a heavily defended point with so few men….
will look through the rest when i get a bit more time. 😀

August 9, 2006 at 5:20 pm #31596To0THBRU5HParticipantI’ve visited the 5 landing beaches, it’s definately something I would recommend doing. It’s an amazing insight into it all, and just how hard it would have been for the poor buggers on Omaha 🙁
August 9, 2006 at 8:09 pm #31597XDC wild egg tamerParticipanti agree with the poor buggers bit toothy old chap but remember it was the inaptitude of the American Navy to drop off the “floating tanks” so far out, to stay so far away from the beach and try to arty it and finally the sheer arrogance of those in charge that they refused to use the flailing machines we had developed that all contributed to the large amount of deaths on the beach………poor fuckers never had a chance and its just sheer courage that took them through.
Once again the people at the top fucking it up for the troops on the ground. 😥
