I want a leatherman for Chrimbo, but there are too many to choose from… has anyone got one to recommend? I want to have the ability to take a PC apart (if I suddenly have the idea to write of thousands of pounds worth of kit!) and do usual odd jobs with.
Cheers

I bought myself the leatherman charge Ti or summat when i was out in the States a few years back, it comes with all the usual bits, has a changeable screwdriver (slotted to phillips) and also various other screwdriver heads (hexaganal type heads).

December 6, 2007 at 11:41 am #63013crazy hippoParticipanti have the leatherman kick at least i think thats the one (had mine for years before they were so popular), its the most basic of them but tbh there isnt anything that a little imagination cant solve with regards to not having the exact tool for the job. and i the tools available on it cover most of what anyone needs from a portable tool.
oh and you dont really need one with scissors on when you have a blade.had mine for 9 years now and nothing has broken.
the wave is the most popular and is probably the best as its middle of the range with regards to features but its twice the price of the kick.
December 6, 2007 at 4:37 pm #63014BadgerParticipantI also have a leatherman kick but before the age of the scissor addition, it’s old like me and as above, it’s still going strong.
December 10, 2007 at 8:52 pm #63015TurksMeisterParticipantAnyone know anything about the Juice Range?
Liking the wave… think I may go for that.
December 10, 2007 at 11:42 pm #63016LensmanParticipantI’ve had a Pulse for several years now. Really good general purpose tool.
But what are you doing poncing about with one for fixing a PC? Leathermen are for manly activities like huntin’, shootin’, and skinnin’ varmints!
December 11, 2007 at 9:54 am #63017stanParticipantI’ve had a wave for a few years now, with the screwdriver attachment deely. Easier that draggin a load of tools about although I do find I end up making do with whatever the leatherman’s got instead of going and getting the proper tool.
Tried using it for hunting but hoying it at an elk just resulted in in a severe goring (I wee in a bag now)
December 11, 2007 at 12:24 pm #63018tessParticipantWe found a pretty decent one in my garden last year, I think some nob had been bouncing on my trampoline in the middle of the night when he was pissed, so it served him right. Vic took it, so I don’t know what it was or anything about it, but he got all excited, bless…
December 11, 2007 at 8:27 pm #63019XDCOldPhartParticipantI have used the bog standard one for years Turks, use it to build my computers, skin animals, cut biltong, its fine
