ParticipantAh, however, Wolf, Spunks and myself decided to go on a hardcore 32 player rush server last night.. Spawn. Die. Repeat.

ParticipantSomething to raise the tone a little. I forgot about this excellent band until it was brought up in the argument section.

ParticipantMe neither. Only a personal prefrence, but I like the large open maps like Capian etc.. the 64 Player CQB stuff is a wee bit too cartoon’y for my taste.

ParticipantGood stuff re: the flashlights. Not sure what Nerf’d means but I presume it’s toned down?

ParticipantWell, I found it difficult. But I find most things difficult. As ever, if someone is taking the piss, a quiet word.

ParticipantI have to hold my hand up and admit to doing that on the first couple of nights we had the game available. The map is now far too much fun to sit and blast away from the AA gun. It’s not that easy though, firstly, you have loads of objects in the way, and the zoom is poor. You have to spot the target and hope they stay still long enough. It’s effective only against artillery coming in to A or B, and infantry who (rarely) are in the far right crane on B. But yes, like the RPG, poor form on infantry etc.

ParticipantI’ve had a few games now on hardcore servers where this is on, and I’ve experienced nothing but frustration with it. My experience hasn’t been less RPG spam, or less mortar activity, though you’d think that’d be the case.
Sorry Matt, but I disagree. I played Bazaar on HC, 30 odd players, and it was fucking amazing, much more creeping round the tight streets, and quite jumpy. But I suppose its what floats your boat. I think that on that particular map, the constant RPG battles at Flag B just get tiresome after a few rounds.
Generally speaking though its how you play the game will ultimately dictate how you like the server you play on to be setup. I remember it didn’t take long for us to change to HC on BFBC Vietnam, and the server was well populated. As ever this is just my own preference, and happy to play and pay for what ever the majority are cool with. 🙂

ParticipantPersonally, I think its a good thing. My only gripe with BF3 so far is, it’s a little “quake-y”, lots of noob toobin’, bunny hopping etc.. I think this game is about realism, and sorry, but if your hit point blank by a high explosive shell from armour your going down like a sack o’ shite end of. I think it would make the game much more tactical, tense, and ultimately lengthen the interest if FF was on. Now, I’m not suggesting hardcore, but when I play on other servers I tend to go for the hardcore ones. There is granted more sniping, but less frantic running around with RPG’s which I hate.
