Thanks for the input Liz. I’m of the opinion at the moment that when and if we get around to having kids I can’t guarentee that they won’t get the same sub-standard treatment that Nathalie gets, so IMHO her family can go whistle. Like you say, we won’t be bringing up our kids the same way that they did.
Unfortunately looks like I’ll have to go to this funeral with the wife tomorrow, even though we’ll have to train it to France to do so. But after that I’ll be making sure that we have nothing to do with them. Trouble is they’ll keep trying to speak to Nathalie and laying a massive guilt trip on her for being ‘a bad, uncaring daughter’.
And Magicker, you have my sympathies. I’m not sure who this brother of yours is, but he sounds like a nasty piece of work and not the lovely, cuddly, fluffy sort you’d want to hug. 😉

That’s pretty much been my approach, but Nathalie keeps trying to please them, and I reckon enough is enough. Like Insane said, I’ll try to get on with anyone as that’s the best way, but if you keep throwing it back in my face and upsetting the wife then you’ve made it clear where we stand. We’ve got enough problems at the moment without her family trying to lay a guilt trip on us.

We dabbled with this idea a year or so ago, after we updated to this type of forum layout/type. However, in true XDC fashion we couldn’t decide which one we liked, so stuck with this one.

You’re not far wrong SOIA. I couldn’t care less about her family and all their stupid bullshit. Basically the sister and the youngest brother shit gold in the eyes of the mum and dad, and if they’ve got an issue with Nathalie then that means the whole family has to. As Ryzo said, this might all blow over, but they’ve been cocks all their lives, so I don’t things are going to change, so I think we should just forget about them.
I’m pretty sure that if it came to a fight my family would kick their arses, mainly because my sister’s like some crazy, coked-up hell-cat when she gets going, but I don’t want it to come to that. Well, maybe a little.
Besides, my family are ace and Nathalies are shit, and she’s technically a Hasted now, so we own her.

Glad you dropped by. You certainly do get a different grade of gaming done depending on which server you play on, and I think ours is one of the best (but then I would say that). Nothing worse than playing on a server full of stat-padders who are only in it for themselves.
Nice to see there’s somebody else here who appreciates the merits of teamplay.

just a thought. But isnt 2142 based more in directx? (hence being unable to alt tab) or am I imagining that? anyhow what about a clean install of directx9.0c and see if that makes any difference?
I’ll give a few of these suggestions a try, but I’m more inclined to believe that it’s something to do with EA. However I have played over 318 hours of 2142, so if there was any game that I’d expect to recieve a lions share of problems with it’d be with that.
BTW Johnny, the Alt Tab thing has started working on my PC since the latest EA patch, which is handy.
For the past two months I can’t remember a time when my version of 2142 hasn’t hung or crashed mid-game. You guys should feel honoured when I say goodnight ‘cos normally I have to reboot it. I’m pretty sure that that’s not good for the PC.

Wanted to see this for a while and finally got around to watching it with my seriously unimpressed wife.
The premise is good and Mike Judge has made a good movie or two in the past, but this one didn’t quite hit the mark. It works as satire, but needed to be a bit more caustic about the future and how we wound up in such a stupid world.
One example is that the hero ‘talks like a fag’ since he doesn’t grunt, use slang of try to be cool everytime he opens his mouth, just as anybody who reads is also clearly gay. So the future is homophobic, but it’s not racist (the President’s black) which I thought would have made it much more menacing rather than just ‘goofy’.
Nice film with good ideas that wasn’t particularly funny, but was kind of a fun scifi idea. Think planet of the Apes meets Dumb and Dumber.

Looks like it might be my PC as my problem has now spread to other servers.
Kate Bush circa 1979 would be grade A material for a ‘beast with two backs’ situation with yours truely. Here’s the reasons:
a) She’s barking mad.
b) She wears leotards and does ‘interpretetive dance’.
c) She’s a bit posh.Combining all three would indicate to me that she’s a goer who’ll do owt if you let her, normally if you’ve said something like “I feel so empty, except with you our auras are like the sun in conjunction with Mercury, on a bike.”
Although I can tell by her eyes in this video that she’d then hunt you down and eat your heart.
