ParticipantLOL!
It’s like being a gunfighter in the old West; once you get a name for yourself, everyone wants to take you on. I’ll bet everywhere he looks there’ll be soldiers running at him with knives! Although with a 32% accuracy score, I’d certainly think twice 😉
BTW if he is our ‘Supreme Commander’ surely that makes him responsible for what we (his soldiers) get up to. Time to start looting and committing war attrocites methinks 😉

ParticipantThe one you’ve quoted there Doc seems fine and I’m sure would make an excellent gaming rig, although I’d want to make sure the machine I’d buy would have a suitable upgrade path. Plus the memory and CPU could be better spec (although you’ll be able to play 2142 like a dream with it).
If I had the money (which I don’t ‘cos I’m not a doctor) I’d go for something like this:
Mobo – Foxconn P9657AA-8EKRS2H Socket 775 – £80
CPU – Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 – £125
Mem – 2Gb (2X1Gb) CorsairTwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC6400 (800) – £185
GFX – 256MB Sapphire Radeon X1950XT – £175
HD1 – 36 Gb Western Digital WD360ADFD Raptor – £75
HD2 – 300 Gb Samsung HD300LJ Spinpoint T – £62
Monitor – 20″ Viewsonic VX2025wm, Widescreen – £275
Which comes to £977 inc VAT, but you’ll need a case, mouse (get a corded one), CD/DVD player and keyboard as well. My logic for this setup is this:
Firtsly none of the components are exactly cutting edge, but represent value for money, plus give you ample room to upgrade (buy more memory, upgrade the processor, get a X-FI card), but the bits you will hang onto for a while (i.e. memory and the monitor) are very good. The monitor’s not 22″, but it is widescreen and has some excellent reviews for gaming.
I’ve put down two Hard Drives, although you only need one, but I think it’s always best to have a seperate drive to store all your movies, games and art on, and leave the other for sticking the OS on. The first drive is a raptor, which are damn quick, although as pricey as hell, so I’ve specc’ed the cheapest one.
Obviously you’ll have the fun of building this one for yourself though.

This reminds me of an article in FHM from about 12 years ago (ahh, those were the days) which was basically about people who’d injured themselves/died whilst performing lewd acts. What had happened to them was funny/bizarre enough, but what made me laugh the most were the explanations that the survivors had given the doctors.
One guy had apparently been doing the vaccuuming in the nude and slipped, resulting in the hose getting jammed up his arse. Another guy had got his knob stuck in a milk bottle after he’d been doing the washing up (in the nude of course) and dropped and it landed on his tadger. But the funniest was the guy who was buggering a chicken when a rockslide landed on him. Obviously he didn’t have an explanation, but I just found it funny.

ParticipantInsane tells me that “Chad’s Prison Beefcake Adventure” starring Bryon Rod and Tony Rears is a must see movie. Not sure what it’s about though.

ParticipantI got the Voss and love it. I don’t seem to be too accurate with it, although I am racking up the kills.
The sentry gun sounds like a ‘must have’ unlock, although I was wondering about the combined firepower of a sentry gun, floating gun pod (Acipiter?) and an LMG when used for defending a flag or a choke point. Might be worth experimenting with.
The Pilum is the best unlock gun so far for me. It’s a fantastic Anti Armor weapon, particularly because you can fire it and duck back into cover without effecting the accuracy (unlike the missile launchers). Still trying to work out the best place/angle to hit the walkers though. Must give the turret sniping a try though. Those Titan guns can seriously put a dampener on your day if you’re trying to capture a silo.
C4 on armour is MUCH harder in 2142 than it was in BF2, mainly because you get killed for just touching an enemy vehicle, rather than just getting pushed out of the way. It’s safer to either go for an EMP’d vehicle (but you have to be damn quick) or leave them lying around where the vehicles are going to be. Can be handy at Camp Gibraltar if you know that the PAC forces are going to be striding up the hill in their walker tuck them out of sight.

hehe neon I did say that gun rocks in my guide 😛 Tried sniping infantry/turrets with it yet? 😀
Heh. That’s part of the reason I got one (that, and because Wipers constantly shoots me with one). I realised that a shot up the arse of most armoured vehicles sends them to the great scrap heap in the sky a week or so ago, and that’s changed the way I play no end.
I think I’ll aim for the sentry gun next, as getting the IMP grenades would be quite handy as well. Used them to great effect at Camp Gibraltar against the enemy walker until a spec ops guy was able to take it out with C4. The shield tip is a good idea too.
And I’ve kind of been doing what Messy and Erratic suggest regarding the other guns. The only one that really looks worth unlocking right now is the shotgun, as the others just seem to be similar to the standard guns.

ParticipantWell I kind of agree with you Wolf. They’re not really my type of band either, but I can listen to their music quite happily, just probably wouldn’t be paying money for the album, except because it’s a friend. But I can recognise quality, and I think that Stillyano put out some quality tunes. Just as Fifa 2006 is a quality game, but I wouldn’t buy it ‘cos I don’t like sports games.
Dan (my mate) puts his heart and soul into the band and has worked hard for about 10 years to fund his attempt at being a proffessional musician and has even moved back home with his parents to give it a shot.
Cheers for voting.

What style of music do they play?
They’re a kind of Pop/Rock kind of band. They remind me of Lenny Kravitz meets Bon Jovi. Electric guitars and rock vocals with the emphasis on melodies.

ParticipantThe trouble with the Federation is that they’re far too PC and into that whole equal employment rights rubbish. Here’s what happened with Deanna Troi:
Deanna: Hello Captain Picard I’m your new telepath Deanna Troi
Picard: Welcome aboard the Enterprise Councelor Troi. We’re the finest ship in the Federation, with a crew to match
Deanna: I’m pleased to be here captain. Oh look we’re being hailed
Picard: Mr Worf, on screen
Q: Ah Picard. Unless you can tell me which number I’m thinking of I shall destroy your ship
Picard: Oh really Q? Well it just so happens that we have a new telepath onboard. What number is he thinking of Councelor?
Deanna: He’s feeling confident, like he know’s something we don’t.
Picard: Well, heh, of course he is councelor, but which number is he thinking of?
Q: Come along Picard. Hurry up or your ship is doomed!
Deanna: He’s holding something back. I sense malice and… a superiority complex.
Picard: Of course he feels superior. He’s a god-like being. But which number is he thinking of?
Deanna: Well, I’m not really a telepath, I’m an empath. I can sense emotions.
Picard: WTF?
Deanna: Well, I’m like a mentally impaired Betazoid. I’m here to fill in the disability quota on the Enterprise.
Q: Oh dear Picard, looks like I’m going to have to destroy you…
Picard: Those fuckers in federation HR are complete retards. A fucking telepath who can’t read minds. They’ll be sending me a blind engineer next! The twats!
Q: Goodbye Picard. Say hello to eternity for me would you…?
Deanna: I sense he’s going to do something violent.
Picard: Oh shut the fuck up Troi! Wesley. What number do you think he’s thinking of?
Crusher: Err… 69?
Q: You win this round Picard. But you’ve not seen the last of me.
Deanna: I sense he’ll be back with more camp, overacting fun in future episodes.
Picard: I didn’t need a fucking empath to tell me that.

Troi is an empath, not a telepath though; yes there is a difference!
She can’t read specific thoughts, but can read the emotion attatched to those thoughts (fear, anger, attraction etc.) -_-
Although it’s inaccurate and anyone who ever watched the show for any amount of time would know that (yes, even if they watched it once…), it still is pretty funny!! 😀
Wait…
I’m sensing LeGit…
He’s… giving us too much ammunition to use against him at a future date…
